MEAL PACKAGING

We need volunteers to pack nearly 1,500 meals every Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until approximately 10:00 a.m. The food is prepared by our kitchen staff and set-up in an assembly line for packaging.

Pet Food Packaging

PET FOOD PACKAGING

Meals on Wheels also strives to help the pets of the homebound in Greenville. We need volunteers to package dog and cat food for monthly distribution and to organize pet food drives.

Inman Yarn Club

Inman Library

Drop by the Inman Library to knit (or crochet) with friends. This social knitting group meets every Friday morning, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Knitting/crochet needles and yarn will be provided, or you can bring your own. Adults ages 18+, no registration required.

Join us for a special event in collaboration with the Spartanburg County Public Libraries to celebrate National Reading Month and the March Into Reading program!
About the event:
There will be something for everyone with historic weapons demonstrations, ranger-led battlefield walks, librarian-led story times, bookmobile, and children’s activities!

Ranger-led Battlefield Walks:

Historic Weapons Demonstrations:

About the March Into Reading Program:
(Begins on March 1)
The March Into Reading program includes a booklet and a specially designed patch! The booklet contains a suggested reading list for all ages compiled by librarians, bookmarks, and a certificate. Readers may earn a patch by reading three books from the SCPL. The books must be related to history, nature, wildlife, or outdoor recreation. Visitors may participate by downloading a program booklet online or by obtaining a booklet in-person at Cowpens National Battlefield and SCPL locations. More information to follow!

Greenville Center for Creative Arts

Make Greenville Center for Creative Arts (GCCA) your first stop on First Friday! Located in the historic Brandon Mill complex in the creative arts district of West Greenville, GCCA is a perfect place to begin the Metropolitan Arts Council’s monthly art walk.

The Art Center is open for extended hours, 6pm to 9pm, on the first Friday of every month for First Friday activities. In addition to viewing multiple exhibitions from both locally and nationally-recognized artists, at GCCA you’ll have the opportunity to meet the resident working artists, see their studio spaces and works in progress, and learn more about their personal style and artistic process.

The mission of GCCA is to enrich the cultural fabric of the community through visual arts promotion, education, and inspiration. Founded by a dedicated group of artists, teachers, and community leaders, the Art Center offers programs for people of all ages, backgrounds, and economic circumstances.

Greenville’s Downtown Trolley (Route 903) provides visitors to the downtown area easy and free transport to the West Greenville area from July through September, every Thursday and Friday, 6pm to 11pm, and Saturdays, 5:30pm to 11pm. If so, this may be your calling. Our VITA Greeters welcome the neighbors upon their arrival. During check-in, you will make sure they have the needed and completed documents for our tax preparers. You do NOT need to have any knowledge of taxes to participate in this activity.

We offer this assistance from the end of January to mid April. The weekly shifts are Tuesday and Thursday from 5pm to 8pm and Saturday from 8:30am to 1:30pm. We are asking that volunteers can do at least one shift most weeks.

The 2024 Conference Planning Committee has been creating a conference that meets your goals for certified credit hours and is fun and educational as well. This is conference will be IN PERSON at the Greenville Convention Center in Greenville, SC.

You can either pay with a credit card when registering online, or choose the “invoice me” option and mail your check. Your registration will not be complete until the check has cleared. If your membership has expired, you will be prompted by the system to renew your membership prior to registration.

The Feline Fix is a FREE TNR (trap-neuter-return) event happening Saturday, February 3 at Greenville County Animal Care’s Clinic.
This is a first-come, first-served special so arrive early! Gate opens at 8am and will close at 10am.
REQUIREMENTS:
☑️ We will be spaying and neutering OUTDOOR cats living in GREENVILLE COUNTY ONLY at this event
☑️ Participating cats are required to be in a humane live trap.
☑️ Max 4 community cats per vehicle.
☑️ All cats will be spayed/neutered, ear-tipped, and vaccinated. No other medical services will be offered (No Felv/FIV testing).

The Spartanburg Philharmonic Youth Orchestra Winter Concert

The Spartanburg Philharmonic Youth Orchestra is where talented young musicians expand their symphonic knowledge and participate in high quality performances with dynamic conductors.

 

The Symphony ensemble serves all musicians in grades 8-12 and the Prelude ensemble is open to string students grades 6-9.  Support the future of Spartanburg’s musical legacy with a subscription to all three of this season’s exciting concerts.
