Drop by the Inman Library to knit (or crochet) with friends. This social knitting group meets every Friday morning, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Knitting/crochet needles and yarn will be provided, or you can bring your own. Adults ages 18+, no registration required.

Make Greenville Center for Creative Arts (GCCA) your first stop on First Friday! Located in the historic Brandon Mill complex in the creative arts district of West Greenville, GCCA is a perfect place to begin the Metropolitan Arts Council’s monthly art walk.
The Art Center is open for extended hours, 6pm to 9pm, on the first Friday of every month for First Friday activities. In addition to viewing multiple exhibitions from both locally and nationally-recognized artists, at GCCA you’ll have the opportunity to meet the resident working artists, see their studio spaces and works in progress, and learn more about their personal style and artistic process.
The mission of GCCA is to enrich the cultural fabric of the community through visual arts promotion, education, and inspiration. Founded by a dedicated group of artists, teachers, and community leaders, the Art Center offers programs for people of all ages, backgrounds, and economic circumstances.
Greenville’s Downtown Trolley (Route 903) provides visitors to the downtown area easy and free transport to the West Greenville area from July through September, every Thursday and Friday, 6pm to 11pm, and Saturdays, 5:30pm to 11pm. Laissez les bon temps rouler with a night of Mardi Gras Magic on Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 7-10 PM at The Rutherford! We’ll have beads, creole food catered by The Lost Cajun, jazz music and a second line by The Erica Berg Collective, authentic King Cake shipped in from New Orleans, and signature Big Easy cocktails! Join the Junior League of Greenville to celebrate with purpose and raise funds for their grants program and community projects while enjoying Greenville’s premier Mardi Gras celebration! Everyone 21+ is welcome!
Please note that there is limited parking available at The Rutherford, so if you would like a reserved space please purchase parking with your ticket. If you need a handicapped space, there is no charge. Please indicate that you need a handicapped space when you purchase your tickets. Additional free parking is available in a lot down the street from the venue. We encourage you to use a ride-sharing service if you plan to drink!

Could this be you? *At least 18 years old, friendly, outgoing, flexible and a good problem solver. *Have the ability to respond to neighbors in a supportive and empathic manner. *Be able to respect the confidential nature of the paperwork involved. If so, this may be your calling. Our VITA Greeters welcome the neighbors upon their arrival. During check-in, you will make sure they have the needed and completed documents for our tax preparers. You do NOT need to have any knowledge of taxes to participate in this activity.
We offer this assistance from the end of January to mid April. The weekly shifts are Tuesday and Thursday from 5pm to 8pm and Saturday from 8:30am to 1:30pm. The 2024 Conference Planning Committee has been creating a conference that meets your goals for certified credit hours and is fun and educational as well. This is conference will be IN PERSON at the Greenville Convention Center in Greenville, SC. You can either pay with a credit card when registering online, or choose the “invoice me” option and mail your check. Your registration will not be complete until the check has cleared. If your membership has expired, you will be prompted by the system to renew your membership prior to registration. Keep watching our Facebook page, our new website, and the Preliminary program, for news about the conference. The Spartanburg Philharmonic Youth Orchestra is where talented young musicians expand their symphonic knowledge and participate in high quality performances with dynamic conductors.
The Symphony ensemble serves all musicians in grades 8-12 and the Prelude ensemble is open to string students grades 6-9. Support the future of Spartanburg’s musical legacy with a subscription to all three of this season’s exciting concerts.
