Join us on June 26 at 7pm as we host three inspiring women to talk about financial empowerment, healthcare empowerment, and empowerment through finding your purpose.

Summer Reading Series: Beatriz Williams @ The Lazy Goat

Our Summer Reading Series continues, this time with New York Times and internationally bestselling author Beatriz Williams and her newest book The Golden Hour. Join us for lunch at The Lazy Goat at 12:00pm to hear Beatriz talk and answer questions about her dazzling novel about an investigative journalist in World-War Two-era Nassau.

Beatriz has written and co-written several bestselling historical fiction novels that “breathe life into the interior lives of women” (in the words of Entertainment Weekly) and this book is no exception. It has everything a beach read needs: a lush Caribbean backdrop, a tinge of mystery and political intrigue, and of course, a love affair in the middle of it all.

Book and a Beer with David Joy and Ace Atkins @ M Judson Booksellers
Jul 16 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Join us on July 16 at 7 pm for Book and a Beer with David Joy and Ace Atkins. Facilitated by our friend Brett Barest (who will introduce the beer and the author), David and Ace will both give a short reading from their newest books, followed by a Q&A time.

David’s paperback release, The Line that Held Us, tells a story of revenge, family, and the unimaginable consequences that a single mistake can have. David has always been a staff favorite at M. Judson, but don’t just take our word for it:

Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel calls The Line that Held Us “exquisitely written,” and “heart-wrenching.”

“A suspenseful page-turner,” says the Los Angeles Times.

“No one writes about the issues facing rural America as clearly, as fairly, or as well as David Joy,” says Wiley Cash.

The Shameless is New York Times bestselling author Ace Atkins’ ninth novel in the critically acclaimed and award winning Quinn Colson series, which follows a Sheriff in Mississippi fighting corruption, drug trafficking, and organized crime in his home town.

Ace has also written several best selling novels continuing Robert B. Parker’s Spenser series. And Ace knows what he’s talking about when it comes to twists and suspense: before becoming a novelist he was a crime reporter and journalist (and played football at Auburn University!)
