What it is:
Girls on the Run inspires girls of all abilities to recognize their individual strengths, while building a sense of connection in a team setting. Volunteer coaches facilitate lessons that blend physical activity with life skill development to enable girls to adapt to whatever comes their way. At the end of the season, the team completes a 5K together, which provides a tangible sense of accomplishment and sets a confident mindset into motion.
- Our Heart & Sole middle school program meets the unique needs of girls of all abilities in 6th-8th grade. The program considers the whole person – body, brain, heart, spirit and social connection. Heart & Sole offers an inclusive place of belonging, where girls feel supported and inspired to explore their emotions, cultivate empathy and strengthen their physical and emotional health. At the end of the season, all program participants complete a 5K.
- Girls on the Run was founded in 1996 with 13 participants and has now served over 2 million from coast to coast.
- Each season, program participants in 3rd-8th grade develop essential emotional, social and physical skills to successfully navigate life experiences.
- Participants positively impact their communities.
- Our programs, Girls on the Run and Heart & Sole, end each season with a celebratory 5K event.
- Girls on the Run hosts hundreds of 5Ks per year across the United States and Canada, making it one of the largest 5K series in the world.
- The National Afterschool Association (NAA) recognized Girls on the Run as one of the most influential after-school programs in health and wellness.

The 53rd Annual Upstate SC Boat Show is coming to the Greenville Convention Center on January 26-29, 2023!
The show will host the latest models of boats including Fishing, Pontoon, Speed, Ski, Cruisers, and Personal Watercraft. Additionally, you’ll find boating accessories, fishing gear, insurance and finance vendors and more; everything that you need to start the season off right!

The Swamp Rabbit Trail is a 22-mile multi-use (walking and bicycling) greenway that traverses along the Reedy River, an old railroad corridor and City parks to connect Travelers Rest with the city of Greenville, South Carolina.
From our location, you can venture south on the trail through Greenville’s many parks. The Swamp Rabbit links up with Falls Park on the Reedy, Cancer Survivors Park and down into Cleveland Park. Heading north, you’ll see how the trail has transformed from an old railbed to a thriving trail with many breweries and eateries, as you head toward Furman University (7 miles) and Travelers Rest (1 miles).
Running every Monday/Wednesday 9:30am and 2:30pm and Fridays at 2:30pm

Sassafras Mountain – Rocky Bottom Retreat Center
Come run a scenic 8k or 8mile race that summits Sassafras Mountain! From the Rocky Bottom Retreat and Conference Center we will climb 5 miles to the HIGHEST PEAK in South Carolina! Sassafras Mountain stands at 3,554 feet above sea level and edges the North/South Carolina state line border! This will serve as the toughest road race in the state and you will get a front row view of the most beautiful overlooks in the entire state as you reach the lookout tower! Shuttles will be available and will depart every 10 minutes from the Sassafras mountain top back down the Rocky Bottom Retreat and Conference Center.

From Lake Hartwell through the Foothill Mountain Range. Locations that cover all of the State Park systems into the Streets of Anderson, Greenville, Travelers Rest, and Spartanburg. We have events that offer opportunity to every level of runner looking to take on their next challenge!

The Ice Breaker 8K is back and Square One Events alongside Upstate Ultra will be hosting it for the 2nd time at Lakeside Park in Piedmont, SC (just south of Greenville). The new trail system at Lakeside Park is ideal for beginners looking to test out their trail shoes or even advanced runners looking to find some speed around the various switchbacks and turns!
The course will feature a rolling run/walk/hike through the woods using the “Every Minute Trail” and “All Day, Baby Trail”. We never know what the weather will be like, but we know you’ll have a great time together. Come join the fun and add this race to your early season schedule now. Runners, walkers, hikers and furry friends are welcome.
