Happy Spring!
With springtime comes warmer weather, blooming flowers, and of course, a trip to the Flat Rock Playhouse Gardens! QR codes can be found on the garden beds, so you can use your smartphones to learn more about the hundreds of plants you see as you stroll through the gardens. All you need to do is point your smartphone camera at the code and tap into information about the individual plants around you. We hope to see you on the Rock enjoying the flora with friends and family.

Junior Naturalists
This Spring, Junior Naturalists will travel through time and space to explore the natural and cultural history of our great state. Each month we will visit a different part of South Carolina and learn about its soils and climate, plants and animals, and the people who made that place home. We’ll learn from experts from across the state through virtual presentations and online activities. Each week we’ll share activities to get kids outside and exploring the natural world.

Downtown trolleys add to the excitement and enjoyment of Greenville’s Main Street experience. The red and blue open-air trolleys offer a vintage look and feel complete with a cow catcher on the front and wooden bench seats inside. If you’re missing Broadway as much as we are, get your fix with local artist Jessica Eckenrod in Genevieve’s on April 1 (we promise this isn’t an April Fools’ joke!).
A transplant from East Tennessee, Eckenrod has found a home in Greenville and our thriving arts community. She has been a regular both onstage and offstage at most theatre houses in the Upstate and is thrilled to be bringing her talents to the Peace Center as part of the Genevieve’s concert series.
You may have recently seen her in Dreamgirls (Effie, Centre Stage SC), Ragtime (Sarah, Greenville Theatre), or across the screen in Warehouse Theater’s production of Objectivity as Mary Del Campo. Her strong passion for musical theatre has found her in masterclasses with Broadway famed names such as Sutton Foster, Liz Calloway, Jason Danieley and the late Marin Mazzie. In addition to several onstage credits under her belt, Jessica has spent the last decade honing her skills as a singer/songwriter leading to her production of Letters from the Public in 2016. A production featuring all local singers and musicians, singing songs inspired by anonymous letters submitted from across the nation.
If you are in the mood for an evening of stellar vocals, great music, and laughter – do not miss out!
A New Genevieve’s Experience
We are committed to a safe and comfortable return to live music. These concerts provide a listening room feeling while adhering to COVID-19 CDC recommendations. Click here to learn more.
Food and Beverages
A small bites menu from Table 301 will be available for pre-order along with a selection of wines. Additional wine, beer, and cocktails are available for purchase at the show. Details will be sent to ticket holders prior to the performance.
We look forward to celebrating a night of live music with you!

Our Virtual Seed to Table Program is Here!

THURSDAY, APRIL 1 – FRIDAY, APRIL 30
The dormancy of winter is coming to an end, and life is beginning to return to the forests. Wildflowers blooming and buds on trees are an indication that spring and warmer weather are right around the corner. This is the perfect opportunity to capture some beautiful images of the Park’s spring blooms and enter them into our “Buds & Blooms” Photo Contest. We’ll use the winning entries on our website and Facebook album, and you’ll win some fun prizes. Photos must be taken within the Chimney Rock section of the Park.
GREAT PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED TO 3 WINNING ENTRIES

Studio 52 is seeking a diverse group of young singers between the ages of 8-18 to be featured in an upcoming virtual performance! Virtual rehearsals will take place on Zoom on Wednesdays, April 14, 21, and 28 from 7:15 – 8:15 PM EST. To join the choir, please fill out the form linked below by Friday, April 9.
Singers must attend all rehearsals and memorize 2-3 musical theatre songs. Following rehearsals, choir members will be asked to submit a video of their songs. Singers will need access to reliable internet, headphones, and a device to film (smart phones work best.) These videos will be edited together and presented in a virtual cabaret in early June celebrating young artists and benefitting Flat Rock Playhouse.
The choir will be directed by Director of Education Anna Kimmell and Music Directed by Artistic Associate Matthew Glover. No auditions are necessary. Former, current, and future Studio 52 participants or any young person who loves singing are welcome to participate! A Studio 52 staff member will then be in touch with more information, music, listening tracks, and Zoom links.
