Are you looking for an excuse to knit or crochet for a good cause? Help make baby hats and blankets and adult hats, scarves, and slippers to support at-risk newborns and homeless adults. Your handmade knitwear will keep our neighbors warm. Volunteers with basic skills in knitting or crocheting are welcome. Please bring your own needles or crochet hooks and a pattern.

Old Farmer’s Ball hosts family dances and waltzes at the Harvest House Community Center.
Greenville’s favorite holiday tradition returns as International Ballet and Artistic Director Vlada Kysselova present The Nutcracker.
International Ballet pre-professional company dancers and academy students will be joined by acclaimed principal guest artists for a magical production. Enjoy Tchaikovsky’s timeless score performed live by the Greenville Symphony Orchestra and be dazzled as the angelic voices of the Greenville Youth Chorale are featured as snow falls on the Concert Hall stage.
Join Clara and her Nutcracker prince as they encounter dancing snowflakes, spirited sword fights and a visit to the Kingdom of Sweets. With glittering costumes and elaborate sets, this incredible performance is not to be missed.

Beginner’s workshop lesson at 7:30 P.M., then 8-11 P.M. Contra Dance with Country Waltzing at the break and the final dance. This is a partner dance but it’s not necessary to come with a partner. We have different live bands and callers.
A unique and joyful holiday mash-up for the whole family, THE HIP HOP NUTCRACKER
is a contemporary dance spectacle set to Tchaikovsky’s timeless music. Directed and choreographed by Jennifer Weber, the production is performed by a supercharged cast of a dozen all-star dancers, a DJ, a violinist, and MC Kurtis Blow, one of Hip Hop’s founding fathers. Through this remixed and remained version of the classic, the dynamic performers of THE HIP HOP NUTCRACKER take audiences on a journey that celebrates love, community and the magic of the holiday season.
The YWCA Racial Justice Workshop is open to our entire YWCA Asheville community – including our staff, volunteers, board, donors, program participants, Fitness Center and community members. This 90-minute workshop will take place on the second Tuesday of each month at 11:30 am and will be facilitated by Gerry Leonard, Racial Justice & Outreach Specialist and Lexus Walker, Tzedek Social Justice Fellow.

The Studio One Series offers an evening of Latin flair with a well-known dance of love – the tango. The tango, originating from Argentina, embodies many cultural roots. It is a dance of connection communicating passion, desire and of course, love. Tangos from well-known ballets and original choreographed pieces will be part of the evening enhanced by tapas and vino before the performance. Performances will take place in our beautiful studios. Directed by Lona Gomez. Not to be missed.

Join Nature Investigations for a relaxed two-hour birding walk along the scenic trails of Cleveland Park. Learn tips for using binoculars, identifying different species, and their natural history.
