Garden Jubilee, one of the largest gardening shows in Western North Carolina, will be held on Saturday, May 24 and Sunday, May 25 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Memorial Day weekend. With nearly 200 plant and craft vendors lining Main Street, the Historic downtown will be transformed into a garden wonderland. 

Local and regional nurseries, orchards and crafters will offer a wide variety of plants and handmade delights and gardening experts will be on hand to share the latest gardening tips and techniques. 

Let’s dive deep into lavender!  Participants will learn about the history of this plant, discover how it’s used to promote relaxation and wellness, and make their own DIY lavender products to take home.  We will make bath salts, pillow sprays, and tea blends to bring relaxation home!

Join the magical fairies at Bullington Gardens for a special Fairy Tea Party. Start your journey with a guided walk through the Fairy Trail. Your child will make their own wand followed by tea and cookies in the pavilion. This event is for children ages 7 and up. Each child must be accompanied by an adult.

Three different dates to choose from!

Erma Bombeck captured with paring-knife-sharp humor the daily life of a new post-WWII American phenomenon: the suburban housewife. Having figured out from her own personal experience that if you can laugh at it you can live with it, she chronicled the housewife’s daily struggles in her column “At Wit’s End” from 1965 to 1996, eventually appearing in more than over 900 newspapers across the country. She also shared both poignant and hilarious observations in 12 books, including the best sellers The Grass is Always Greener Over the Septic Tank and If Life is a Bowl of Cherries, What Am I Doing in the Pits? Bombeck brought to American awareness the lives of homemakers whose efforts often felt invisible and taken for granted. Erma poked fun at kids, diets, husbands, housework and, especially, herself. Akanimo Ekanem, born on June 13, 2007 & was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer called Desmoplastic Small Round Cell tumor (DSRCT) at 10 years old and battled bravely for 2 years and 2 months until Christmas Day, 2019. This is why we are passionate about childhood cancer research. This year, on what would have been Nimo’s 18th birthday, we call on you to be part of something extraordinary as we gather all over the world in our various communities to participate in this family and community event. We invite you to create a team in your location. You can also give to an individual team or the general team. It’s an event like no other, and we love that you are a part of something this phenomenal!
