Greenville Gay Men’s Chorus presents BIG GAY BINGO—Halloween Edition, Friday, October 3 at Greenville’s Radio Room. This is the organization’s largest fundraiser of the season—packed with bingo, cabaret music acts, and outrageous fun including a costume party attendees won’t soon forget—all emceed by drag artist Rylee Hunty.
Join us at Presbyterian College in Belk Auditorium for a Celebration Concert featuring Christian Contemporary duo, Caleb + Kelsey.

The YWCA Racial Justice Workshop is open to our entire YWCA Asheville community – including our staff, volunteers, board, donors, program participants, Fitness Center and community members. This 90-minute workshop will take place on the second Tuesday of each month at 11:30 am and will be facilitated by Gerry Leonard, Racial Justice & Outreach Specialist and Lexus Walker, Tzedek Social Justice Fellow.
Brooke Barry is a writer, comedian, and successful loser from South Georgia. She grew up on a farm where she was raised by dogs, which is why she has issues with codependency and drooling. Her storytelling approach to a life of tragedy turned comedy is the essence of her performances. From irrational fears, to life in a trailer park, to being kidnapped and living out of a semi-truck when she was 10 years old, her stories are as funny as they are absurd. Brooke’s stand-up performances at many venues and festivals have gained recognition across the South, including several Audience Choice Awards. Soteria CDC is celebrating the community and individuals we serve as we work to create economic and social justice for individuals and families impacted by the criminal justice system by providing housing, education, employment, advocacy, and affirmation for previously incarcerated individuals. We are hosting a fundraiser and celebration on October 23rd, 2025 in recognition of our 26 years of service that will include a combination of storytelling, art, and music, as we unite the community around the importance of supporting and dignifying those reentering society.
Join us on Thursday, October 24 at 1800 Drayton for Bacon & Barrel — a lively evening of bourbon tastings, bacon-inspired bites from local restaurants, live music, and a curated silent auction, all in support of St. Luke’s Free Medical Clinic. This beloved annual fundraiser helps provide free, high-quality healthcare to uninsured residents of Spartanburg County.

The Art of Tamada: A Georgian Feast and Cultural Celebration in Greenville
Greenville, SC — First Things Foundation and Keipi Restaurant, with ticketing by Trueline, invite the community to experience The Art of Tamada, Greenville’s most unique culinary and cultural celebration, taking place October 24–25 at Hampton Station. This two-day fundraiser blends Georgian tradition, live music, and community connection, supporting First Things Foundation’s humanitarian work around the globe.
At the heart of the event is the Supra, a traditional Georgian feast led by a Tamada (toastmaster), who guides guests through stories, blessings, and toasts, turning the table into a space of meaning and connection. Guests will enjoy multi-course dinners, live performances, and the warmth of Georgian hospitality.

There are sung sonnets, limericks, and musical jokes, and the thread that runs through it is the beauty of growing old. Despite the inconvenience, old age brings the contentment of LESS IS MORE.
Your mistakes and big ambitions are behind you, nothing left to prove, and small things give you great pleasure because that’s what’s left. (“I was unhappy in college because it was a requirement for an ntellectual, but then I went into show business and discovered that people won’t pay to be made inhappy; their kids will do it for free.”)
There is the News from Lake Wobegon, a town booming with new entrepreneurs, makers of artisanal firewood and gourmet meatloaf, breeders of composting worms, and dogs trained to do childcare. But some things endure, such as the formation of the Living Flag on Main Street, citizens in tight formation wearing red, white, or blue caps, and Mr. Keillor among them, standing close to old neighbors, Myrtle Krebsbach (“Truckstop”) and Julie Christensen (“Bruno, The Fishing Dog”) and Clint Bunsen. And an a – cappella sing-along with the audience singing from memory an odd medley of patriotic songs, pop standards, hymns, and ending with the national anthem.
