Piedmont Natural Gas Downtown Alive presented by Spectrum benefiting Metropolitan Arts Council, kicks off the weekend every Thursday night with music at NOMA Square on Main Street. FREE ADMISSION. More than 45,000 people attend this event annually. The event serves as the single largest fundraiser for the Metropolitan Arts Council. Piedmont Natural Gas Downtown Alive opens at 5:30 p.m. and closes at 8:30 p.m. Bands play two sets at 5:50 p.m. and 7:20 p.m

This weekly music series on Main Street at NOMA Square opens at 5:30 p.m. and closes at 9:30 p.m., with bands playing two sets at 5:50 p.m. and 7:40 p.m. NOMA Square chairs go fast, so bring a tailgating chair if you are not arriving early.

Get ready to move! Salsa at Sunset returns for its 10th season with a summer full of rhythm, culture, and connection. Hosted by Upstate International and proudly presented by BDV Solutions, this beloved free family-friendly outdoor series brings the joy of Latin music and dance to the heart of our community, every last Friday of the month from June through August.

This summer features the crowd-favorite bands and brings the heat with a dynamic mix of salsa, merengue, and Latin jazz that’ll keep you dancing all night long.

Whether you’re an experienced dancer or just want to feel the rhythm and have fun, this is your night to shine under the summer sky. Dance instruction is offered at the start of the evening, so bring your friends, your date, or your whole crew!

NEWSBOYS are a Christian rock band founded in 1985 in Mooloolaba, Queensland, Australia, by Peter Furler and George Perdikis. Now based in Nashville, Tennessee, the band has released 17 studio albums, 6 of which have been certified gold. As of 2025, the band consists of bassist and vocalist Adam Agee (formerly of Stellar Kart and Audio Adrenaline), electric guitarist Jody Davis, keyboardist Jeff Frankenstein, and drummer Duncan Phillips; no founding members are featured in the lineup. In addition to performing music, the band has appeared in the films God’s Not Dead, God’s Not Dead 2, and God’s Not Dead: A Light in Darkness.
