Fill The Bridge’s Pantry

The Bridge

The Bridge at Green Street is one of the many agencies continuing to serve Spartanburg families during the COVID-19 crisis. A part of their service provides food assistance to families through their pantry. Recent circumstances have increased the need for such resources within the community. Right now, The Bridge always appreciates food donations in order to keep helping our neighbors.

Pantry Needs: The Bridge has requested donations for items that can be made into meals such as pasta and pasta sauce, mac and cheese, Hamburger Helper, canned meat, and Chunky soup.

Donations can be dropped off at The Bridge Monday-Thursday from 8AM to 6PM at the Main Entrance!

Greenville County Schools: Meals students enrolled in the Virtual Program at 15 district locations.

Meal pick-up locations will vary by school

Greenville County Schools announced Tuesday that beginning on August 24 the district will be providing meals to students enrolled in the Virtual Program at 15 district locations.

The meals will be served on a to-go bases on Mondays from 4 – 5 p.m. near the parent pick-up line or school bus loop. Meal pick-up locations will vary by school.

The 15 district locations that will provide meals one time each week are: AJ Whittenberg Elementary, Berea Elementary, Blue Ridge Middle, Bryson Middle, Fisher Middle, Fountain Inn Elementary, Greer Middle School, Grove Elementary, Mauldin Elementary, Northwest Middle, Northwood Middle, Sevier Middle, Sterling School, Sue Cleveland Elementary, and Welcome Elementary.

The district said phone numbers for these schools can be found on the GCS website: https://www.greenville.k12.sc.us/

One weeks’ worth of meals will be provided at each pickup, comprised of 5 breakfasts and 5 lunches. Some items included in the meals will be ready-to-eat, and others will be heat-and-serve items.

Our fast-turnaround testing partnership with Luxor Scientific allows Spartanburg County businesses to receive employee COVID-19 test results within 48 hours at a reduced price of $85. Send your employee to the lab, host a testing day at your company (min. 50 employees), or collect on-site samples to send to the lab.

Luxor will tailor agreements for each business, defining the scope of services and how they intend to interact with individuals. Business representatives are encouraged to contact Luxor directly after signing up through the Chamber at 864-568-8940.

Attention SNAP Recipients: Beginning August 5th, EBT cards can be used for online purchases of eligible food items in response to COVID-19. At this time, Walmart and Amazon are the only retailers authorized by USDA to implement online food purchasing in this state, and DSS hopes that other retailers and independent grocers will be added soon to help boost the state’s economy.

The Charles Lea Center offers FREE Covid Testing

Free COVID-19 testing is available to the public starting August 4th at The Charles Lea Center located at 195 Burdette Street in Spartanburg from 9:00a.m. until 4:00 p.m. or while test supplies last. COVID-19 testing will be held in the back parking lot of The Charles Lea Center and will continue at the same location on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. through Friday, August 31st. No doctor’s referral or COVID-19 symptoms is necessary to be tested.

However, we strongly encourage individuals to pre-register online at www.StarMed.care.

Click the “Schedule Virtual Visit” button below to schedule your Virtual Visit and select your county from the drop-down menu. You will receive an email with instructions for how to complete your Virtual Visit.

After Virtual Visit, drive to the testing location for Drive-Thru Test. All individuals that pre-register online prior to the screening event will be guaranteed a test while supplies last.

Free Drive-Thru COVID-19 Testing For the Uninsured
The Brevard Music Center in association with the Pisgah Health Foundation announces a free drive-thru COVID-19 testing site exclusively for those on Medicare and those who are uninsured.When: Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 – 11:00 a.m. Testing begins on Wednesday, July 15.

Where: Brevard Music Center Main Parking lot (entrance on Music Camp Road off Probart Street)

Who: Testing available exclusively to those who are uninsured and those on Medicare. (Please note: This testing is not available to persons holding private health insurance or on Medicaid. Please consult your doctor for testing.)
