Marjorie Boafo Appiah, fondly known as Marjy Marj, is an author, management consultant, visionary, and social change advocate. An author of 8 books, she has been featured in national media, and recognized locally and globally for her acumen, wit, community work, and advocacy. In addition to her business and literary contributions, Marjy Marj is the host of the globally ranked “Humanity Chats” podcast, where she engages in dialogues about the human experience.
Her work as a consultant, community leader, writer, and podcast host, seeks to promote opportunity, understanding, empathy, and unity. She has served on the boards of the Spartanburg Regional Foundation, the Charles Lea Center Foundation, and as Chair for the Hub City Writers Project. She also served as the Education Chair for Women Giving Spartanburg, a Board of Trustee at Spartanburg Day School and was the An avid supporter of literacy and sports, she attended the Universities of Ghana, Baltimore, and Duke University. |

Cindy Kelly graduated from Gardner Webb University with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Management.
She is an Honors Graduate of the Cannon Financial Institute Trust School and a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA). As part of the community, Cindy is part of the Spartanburg County Foundation Grants Committee, Development Board member for the Chapman Cultural Center, a member of the USC Upstate Foundation Capital Development Board and board member of Women Giving for Spartanburg; currently serving as Chair of the Grants committee. She is past President and Board Member of the Spartanburg and Greenville Estate Planning Councils, past Chair and Board Member of the South Carolina Bankers Trust Committee, past President and current Board Member of the Rotary Club of Spartanburg, and former Board Chair for the Hope Center for Children. Cindy is a graduate of Leadership Spartanburg and the Spartanburg Regional Hospital System, Regional Fellows Program. |

Visitors of all ages and abilities can enjoy their hiking experience at the Arboretum as trail options include easy, moderate, and difficult challenge levels. All trails are dog-friendly and visitors are asked to adhere to the proper waste disposing procedures for pets.

Sometimes our scheduled volunteers are unable to make their routes due to illness or other commitments. If you are interested in becoming a substitute, sign up for emails to get notifications on open routes!
We have nearly 150 Route Partners who deliver meals regularly to our homebound clients. Learn more about this program now!
We need volunteers to pack nearly 1,500 meals every Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until approximately 10:00 a.m. The food is prepared by our kitchen staff and set-up in an assembly line for packaging.
Meals on Wheels also strives to help the pets of the homebound in Greenville. We need volunteers to package dog and cat food for monthly distribution and to organize pet food drives.
Volunteers are needed Monday through Friday from 10:30 until 12 pm to greet in-coming volunteers, hand out route sheets and answer questions.
Our annual events are great fundraising opportunities. They’re also a lot of fun, whether you get involved as a participant, committee member, volunteer or corporate sponsor.

Drop by the Inman Library to knit (or crochet) with friends. This social knitting group meets every Friday morning, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Knitting/crochet needles and yarn will be provided, or you can bring your own. Adults ages 18+, no registration required.
Learn about the basics of perennial and dahlia culture. What is a perennial and what makes them special in the garden? How can you get free plants from your current perennials? These questions and so much more will be covered. We will also have a demo on how to divide perennials. Presented by Isaac Wyatt, Agricultural Program Assistant with Henderson County Extension, will teach the basics of perennial and dahlia culture.
Our first fundraising event of the year will be the 2nd Annual Run For Kids’ Sake on Saturday, March 9th, beginning at 9 AM. Through sponsorships, donations, and event registrations, funds will be raised for mentoring relationships for underserved children right here in our community. Tickets are non refundable. Event will continue in rain or shine.
The 5K run will take participants through a scenic route within Lake Conestee Nature Park, in Greenville, SC. The route may include well-maintained trails, boardwalks, and possibly some challenging yet rewarding terrains. The 1-mile fun run takes a more leisurely path within the park, ensuring a family-friendly atmosphere. This shorter route allows children, beginners, and those looking for a more relaxed experience to join in the festivities. Join us for another feel good volunteer session of taking the fight to litter and invasive plants at the beautiful Nesbitt Shoals Nature Park! As usual, tools, supplies, snacks and drinks will be provided as we continue taking care of important public resources within the Tyger River Basin.
We’ll meet at the park’s main parking lot on Saturday, March 9th at 9am for a 2hr clean-up effort, all while enjoying and exploring this wonderful set of shoals.
