Leadership for anyone who wants to have a lot of fun meeting 40 other interesting, passionate people from all walks of life.
It’s for anyone who has noticed something in our neighborhoods that could be better and wanted to help fix the problem.
Leadership Spartanburg’s approach to community issues is open and honest about the good and the bad. Meetings will challenge you personally and professionally, but challenges are always framed to encourage realistic positive action.
Getting the most out of Leadership Spartanburg requires a long, thoughtful look around as you dig into the program of monthly meetings and experiential small-group learning projects.
The program is a backstage pass to our county – don’t wait to get to yours.
The South Carolina Department of Commerce and South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) today announced the launch of a new online recycling tool that creates a network for recyclable materials. The Recycling Markets Directory is a collaborative resource that connects companies with recyclable waste products with other organizations that can utilize the materials.
Service for All: Integration of Public Libraries in Greenville County
Greenville County Library System is pleased to honor the 60th anniversary of sit-ins which led to the integration of Greenville’s public libraries in September of 1960.
An expanded version of Service for All is on display at the Hughes Main Library and can be viewed during the library’s normal business hours.
–Physical exhibit at Hughes Main Library runs through Oct 1.
–Virtual exhibit on the web runs through Dec 31.

The purpose of our study is to determine if RunRA (a mobile app designed by patients with RA) can help you track how you are feeling and help improve your communication with your rheumatologist leading to better disease management. What’s Involved: -Be willing to have the mobile app, RunRA, downloaded onto your phone for your use. All data is stored to your personal phone. -Complete six short surveys about the burden of your RA and its treatment over the next 15 months. Each survey takes about 10 minutes and can be completed via email or telephone based on your preference. -You may be asked to participant in two interviews. These take about 30 minutes and will occur with a member of the research team over the phone at a time that is convenient for you. -You will be able to receive up to 50 dollars in gift cards for your participation in the surveys. -If selected for an interview, you are able to receive up to 60 dollars in gift cards for the interviews. Due to COVID-19, we are all social distancing so all of the activities described above will be done safely from your home. Henderson County encourages the public to participate now. Bidding closes 7pm Thursday,

Funds are being raised to support unique one-on-one mentoring programs. 81 items include an

The South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce has partnered with the online learning platform Coursera to launch the Coursera Workforce Recovery Initiative in South Carolina.
The program will allow those displaced from work due to the COVID-19 pandemic to gain skills and participate in worker retraining by granting free access to Coursera’s more than 4,000 courses and certifications in areas such as business, technology, data science, health and social sciences. Participants may also pursue professional certifications including the Google IT Support Professional Certificate.
Interested and eligible unemployment claimants who received an email from SC DEW must register with Coursera by Oct. 31, 2020. Participants may take as many courses as they would like but must complete the classes by Dec. 31, 2020.

Flat Rock Playhouse is proud to partner with The Breath Project to create an archive of 8 minute and 46 second works of live theater from multidisciplinary theater artists of color who are responding to this moment in history. All submissions that meet the Breath Project guidelines will be featured in the archive, and as partners in the project, CJ Barnwell will be the curator from our theater who will help select pieces from the archive to feature in a virtual festival in Fall 2020. For those who do not have access to video recording equipment, the Playhouse is able to offer the use of the Mainstage and video recording support. If you are interested in recording on the Mainstage, please email [email protected].
