Paris Mountain State Park is at 2401 State Park Road, Greenville, SC 29609. It is located six
miles north of downtown Greenville. Admission is $6 for ages 16 – 64, $3.50 for ages 6 – 15, and
$3.25 for S.C. seniors and disabled persons. Children under the age of 6 are not charged
admission.

Paris Mountain State Park will offer Creek Ranger family hikes most Fridays at
10 a.m. this summer, through August 5. Registration is required. Cost is $5 per person plus
admission. These programs are also available for groups on other summer weekdays.
Creek Ranger Hike: Create family memories on Fridays this summer! From 10 am – 12 noon,
take a nature walk with a ranger or staff interpreter and wade into Mountain Creek! Using one of
the park nets, search for dragonfly nymphs and salamanders, plus many more animals that call
Paris Mountain home. Look at these animals under the microscope in the park lab (animals will
be returned to the creek afterward)! Participants are encouraged to bring their own water shoes
(though a limited number of water shoes are available to borrow). Limit: 25 people. All ages
welcome! Total walking adds up to about a mile roundtrip, as we walk to the creek, stay awhile,
and walk back.
The cost is $5 per person, including adults, PLUS admission (if you have a Park Passport,
you only pay the program cost). Payable at the admission booth with credit/debit card or cash.
Registration required. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Admission is $6 for ages 16-

This hike has it all! Everything but the kitchen sink.

Meet at University square at 9:00 to form carpools, or park at Fawn Lake Access and meet at the trailhead at 9:45. If you choose to carpool, the driver sets the rules for his/her car. Please give your driver gas money. I’ll look up the mileage rate and add it to the comments.

Hike description:
We will follow the Fawn Lake Loop to the old airstrip, then detour to see Bridal Veil Falls before continuing on to the barn and then Lake Julia and the beautiful perspective from the short lake view loop. Finally we will return via the Reasonover Creek trail through the forest with 2 water crossings. This is a hike with a lot of diversity. This is a multi-use trail shared with bikes and horses in some areas.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own water shoes (though a limited number of water shoes are available to borrow). All ages welcome! Limit 25 people. Online payment is required to reserve your spot. For questions, or to get help registering, call the park office at 864-244-5565. Chimney Rock at Chimney Rock State Park is a nature lover’s paradise with spectacular views and incredible hiking trails. They combine to create a mountain experience that is postcard perfect. Climb the steps to the ‘chimney’ or take the elevator up for an amazing view of the surrounding mountains, Hickory Nut Gorge and Lake Lure. There’s an optional choice of hiking the moderate Skyline Trail to the top of the falls or the easy Hickory Nut Falls trail to the bottom of the falls. Both hikes are optional, if you prefer to stay at the top of Chimney Rock and enjoy the views that is totally fine!

After Chimney Rock we will drive down to Chimney Rock village for optional ice cream and a brown bag lunch at beautiful Lake Lure.

Rsvp to Margo by Monday 8/15 at [email protected] after which you will receive information on a meeting spot for carpooling. Admission fee for Chimney Rock Park is $17 for adults, $8 youth (5-15).
