All Saints Anglican Church invites you to a free Coffeehouse-style concert featuring David A. Crossman, singer-songwriter, novelist, artist, missionary, and storyteller.
On Sunday, July 23, at 6 pm, Alex Nsengimana [Al ĕx Sĕn ji mah nə] will be speaking at Edwards Baptist Church, 1050 Edwards Rd in Greenville, about how receiving an Operation Christmas Child box as a child gave him hope.
Growing up in midst of an unstable Rwandan government Nsengimana experienced first-hand the travesties of his nation’s genocide. At the height of tribal unrest, the genocide claimed the lives of his caregivers. Fleeing for his life, Nsengimana escaped gunmen and eventually ended up in an orphanage that was his home for the next several years.
Nsengimana received a shoebox from Operation Christmas Child one year after arriving at the orphanage and remembers being so excited to have a gift to call his own. The shoebox gift sowed seeds of hope and love that he desperately needed. He realized that God had a specific plan for his life. Nsengimana now serves with Operation Christmas Child paying forward the hope and love he received through a shoebox gift.
This event is free and open to the community. Ice cream will be served following the talk.

Sooner or later grief comes along and tags, “You’re it!” Sometimes “out of the blue” but at other times at the end of a long medical battle. Sometimes after expecting a “miracle” from either modern medicine or from God.
Grievers quickly discover that some family members, friends, colleagues, are anxious for them to “move on” and immigrate to “Over-It-Land!” Grievers often find themselves stuck in one of four boxes: Get Over It, Get Under It, Get Around It, but rarely Get Into It. There is life during grief AND after grief IF you pay attention to the boxes!
Join us to discuss grief with guest speaker Harold Ivan Smith, DMIN, FT.

Some of you may be wondering how you can benefit from conferences even if you weren’t able to attend DEF CON 31, BSides Las Vegas, or any local BSides. For starters, attend the October meeting where Overcast and probably a few others will share stories with only a hint of embellishment. He’ll also explore ways to have your own remote con experience if training or travel are limited. While attending the DEF CON 31 conference Overcast acquired Frog Badge #26 of 28. Cutting it kinda close there before they ran out. He’ll share how a random group of Frog Badge collectors reverse engineered its challenges.
Also, he brought back goodies to share with the DC864 crew.
SPEAKER BIO
Overcast is a co-founder of DEF CON 864 and one of its current leads. He loves exploring hacking and spending quality conversational time with family and friends. Occasionally those folks enjoy talking to him too.
