The Band’s Visit
Aug 25 @ 1:30 pm – 4:00 pm
Knight Theater at Levine Center for the Arts

“Breaking news for Broadway: IT IS TIME TO FALL IN LOVE AGAIN! One of the most ravishing musicals you will ever be seduced by. It is called ‘THE BAND’S VISIT.’” -The New York Times, Critics’ Pick

The critically acclaimed new musical, THE BAND’S VISIT, celebrates the deeply human ways music, longing and laughter can connect us all. After a mix-up at the border, an Egyptian Police Band is sent to a remote village in the middle of the Israeli desert. With no bus until morning and no hotel in sight, these unlikely travelers are taken in by the locals. Under the spell of the desert sky, their lives become intertwined in the most unexpected ways.

Based on the multi-award winning film, THE BAND’S VISIT is brought to the stage by three-time Tony® nominee DAVID YAZBEK (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Full Monty), Drama Desk nominee ITAMAR MOSES (Nobody Loves You, Fortress of Solitude) and acclaimed director DAVID CROMER (Our Town, The House of Blue Leaves).

On sale now with a PNC Broadway Lights series ticket! Call 704-335-1010 for season subscription information, or visit BlumenthalArts.org/Broadway

The Knotty G’s at Point Lookout Vineyards
Aug 25 @ 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Point Lookout Vineyards

Chuck Knott and “Jill with a G” formed the funky and fun-loving duo known as The Knotty G’s. Established in Asheville, NC, The Knotty G’s travel the country sharing their soul-soaked Americana music and sensibilities, serving up a hearty original recipe of pan-seared-boot-stomping-upbeat tunes, slow-cooked-captivating ballads, and even a few beaten-battered-deep-fried covers. In early Summer 2019 they released One Small Glove, their debut album of nine original songs which highlights their genuine music with a homespun organic feel that captures the flavor of what you’ll get when you see this group live. Since this project’s recent creation, they’ve traveled the east coast and beyond, playing festivals including The Ladybug Festival, Wormtown Music Festival, Strange Creek Campout, and Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival. Nothing short of a stir fry of fun, these characters can certainly satiate even the biggest of musical appetites.
