Attendees are encouraged to reciprocate the venue’s generosity by making a beverage purchase and by tipping their servers. It is the Rockstar thing to do. Feel free to come early for dinner, or stay after for drinks.
Rockstar Connect events are held in hundreds of cities around the United States and Canada and hundreds of thousands of networkers attend Rockstar Connect events every year. On Tuesday, September 11, at 6pm, Hub City Bookshop will host a conversation with author Randy Bell about his new book Conversations with America: Confronting the Divisive Challenges of Our Time.
In this series of essays, author Randy Bell raises questions about what it means to be an American in the early 21st century. Covering a range of issues from government and its responsibility to its people, international relations, the economy and business, religion, discrimination, and human rights, Bell makes a case for reasoned conversation and the rejection of knee-jerk responses to complex challenges.
These essays are intended to provoke critically needed conversations between family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, and political parties. The book is a call for respectful conversations that consist not just of talking, but also listening fully to what others are saying…conversations that help the continual development of each reader’s perspectives and opinions.
It is unlikely that all readers will come to the same conclusions given our different experiences and life journeys, but it does matter greatly that we work to come to a place that honors those differences, while concurrently allowing us to live peaceful and productive lives in community with each other. For it is in community that there is not only strength, but also a life greatly enriched.
Randy Bell began his personal study of the spirit and spirituality after careers in accounting, music, and project management. In the early 2000s, Bell built a sanctuary in the mountains of western North Carolina, where, as Director of Spring Creek Spirituality, he explored his own spiritual path and welcomed people of all faiths and backgrounds to the sanctuary in order to do the same. Bell has led sessions at a number of events and institutions including the Wild Goose Festival, Mt. Zion Retreat Sanctuary, and Mt. Olive College. He has attended retreats with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Sharon Saltzburg, and Lama Surya Das, among others. He is a member of the North Carolina Writers Network and Spiritual Directors International, and has published fourteen books.

At this FREE estate planning workshop, we will cover the current issues surrounding Wills and Trusts, Probate, asset protection, and estate taxes. We will focus on issues that are commonly overlooked but are often CRITICAL to protecting your estate and your assets, to making sure your hard-earned assets stay in the family and go where YOU want them to go, and to leaving a positive legacy. We will address a host of important topics, including:
–what happens if you become disabled or incapacitated;
–how to avoid both living and death probate in order to keep the government out of your affairs and protect your privacy;
–estate and asset protection for spouses and children in the event of remarriage, divorce, or financial difficulty or irresponsibility;
–how to protect your assets against excessive medical or long-term care costs, including nursing home expenses; and
–how to provide for beneficiaries with special needs or those in need of other protections.
We will talk in particular about the relative advantages and disadvantages of using wills, revocable living trusts, and asset protection trusts.
Even though you’ve worked hard your entire life and saved up something you’d like to pass on to your spouse and your family, they may end up with nothing without proper planning. When you attend one of our Wills and Trusts workshops, you’ll immediately discover how you can prevent this from happening to you and your family.
All workshop attendees will receive a FREE one-hour, private consultation to see how a proper estate plan will benefit you and your family (a $350 value).
We encourage you to bring guests you believe would benefit from this powerful information. Reservations are requested and seating is limited!!
