In the last four years, the band from Asheville, North Carolina has independently released two albums in the top of the Americana Music Association Airplay Chart and Roots Music Report Chart, all the while garnering critical acclaim from around the globe.
Get to know the joyful soaring voice of Molly Rose and her acoustic guitar and the distinctive styling of Eleanor Underhill’s open-back banjo and salty-blues vocals. Their close harmonies and charisma make most think they are sisters, and with their song-centered original compositions, Underhill Rose creates music that is real and inspired. See them on PBS Television, hear them on nationally-syndicated radio and at live performances, and you will know how Underhill Rose has carved out a distinctive place in the Americana-folk scene.
For their most recent release, the authentic, live sound was captured in their home state over two starry nights. Featuring original songs from their three studio albums, Underhill Rose’s Live covers the depth and joy of nearly a decade of musical partnership. The stripped-down sound highlights the soulful harmonies that originally brought Eleanor and Molly together to play music. By removing the bells and whistles of past recordings, Underhill Rose reveals the fundamental elements of their sound: a powerful partnership in full bloom.

In collaboration with the National Music Museum (NMM) in Vermillion, South Dakota, which will soon house the Utley Collection, Dr. Sabine Klaus, curator of the Utley Collection, worked closely with Tom Strange, Curator and Artistic Director of the Carolina Music Museum to prepare the exhibit.

You’ll think you’re in a cool jazz club with the Rat Pack when Schiro takes the stage with his homage to Crooner Classics. Schiro is known as “The Contemporary Crooner” for good reason. He sings classics by Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr, Bing Crosby, Tony Bennett & mixes in other standards like “Georgia on Mind” & “What a Wonderful World.” If it’s soulful, Schiro sings it!

Plenty of space to dance in this former ballroom & the perfect music to swing to. Reserved tables will be up front & assigned by order of purchase. Single seats are first come, first served & based on availability.

Foothills Philharmonic presents Gina League, Clarinet, and Bobby Powell, Trombone, in a joint recital at Greer Center for the Arts. Featuring solo works for Clarinet and Trombone, this concert promises to be a very enjoyable evening at the brand new Greer Center for the Arts near Trade Street in Greer. The 2019-20 Chamber Concert Series is a new concert series featuring the different chamber groups and soloists of Foothills Philharmonic, and is an opportunity for our audience to enjoy chamber music in an intimate setting. As with our Main stage concert series, all concerts are free and open to the public.

A remarkable thing happened to The Revivalists as they came upon their tenth anniversary as a band. The New Orleans-based septet scored a game-changing hit with “Wish I Knew You,” a wistful song from their third album, Men Amongst Mountains. Guided by dynamic percussion and punchy horns, the single features a contagious hook and feel-good chorus that has resonated with fans across all different genres. Though the album was released in July of 2015 (debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard Alternative Albums chart), the band’s break out single “Wish I Knew You” has a rare and undeniable staying power.  The song steadily picked up steam in 2016 spending over 40 weeks on the Billboard Adult Alternative Chart where it peaked at #1 and maintained for multiple weeks.  By 2017, the song crossed to Alternative radio rising quickly to #1 and breaking the Billboard chart record for most single-week spins ever at Alternative radio.  “Wish I Knew You” then peaked inside the Top 15 at Adult Pop Radio and ultimately spent 9 weeks in the Billboard Hot 100.

The Revivalists concert has been rescheduled for Friday, October 30 at Thomas Wolfe Auditorium. All previously purchased tickets will be honored on October 30. If you are unable to attend the new date, you may request a refund until June 19, 2020 from your point of purchase.

These video sessions will contain music theory and concepts, rhythm and groove exploration, ways to make instruments at home, play along ideas, personal feedback, and exposure to percussion from around the world.

As more festivals, performances and concerts are canceled due to the coronavirus shutdown, musicians of all stripes and sizes are taking to social and streaming platforms to play live for their fans.

NPR Music is compiling a list of live audio and video streams from around the world, categorized by date and genre, with links out to streaming platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. Some will require registration or a subscription, but most will be free, often with digital tip jars and opportunities to directly support artists by buying music and merchandise.

Some artists are planning daily streams — like Ben Gibbard and Christine and the Queens — and will be noted below as information becomes available.
