Carolina Panthers fans can enjoy a night of football, fireworks and fun at the team’s annual Fan Fest presented by Daimler Truck North America at Bank of America Stadium on Thursday, Aug. 11. Tickets to Fan Fest are $5 and are now on sale here.

Ticket proceeds from Fan Fest benefit Carolina Panthers Charities and its on-going mission to serve communities across the Carolinas.

At Fan Fest, fans can see the Panthers practice on the stadium field, and enjoy performances by the TopCats, Sir Purr, PurrCussion and the Black & Blue Crew before the night culminates with a spectacular fireworks and laser show. For the first time, fans will be able to participate in the fireworks and laser show with interactive LED wristbands provided by Daimler Truck of North America. Panthers’ partner Morris-Jenkins will provide a DJ for the evening’s festivities.

Tickets to Fan Fest will be limited to six (6) per account and will be mobile delivery only. Mobile ticketing can be accessed through the Panthers mobile app, through Ticketmaster.com or the Ticketmaster mobile app. There are limited group ticket options available. Those interested in group tickets should contact the Bank of America Stadium ticket office at 704-358-7800.

The NFL Clear Bag Policy will be in place at Fan Fest. Transparent, plastic, vinyl or PVC bags smaller than 12″ x 6″ x 12″ will be allowed after inspection.

2022 Hughes Investments Elevate Upstate Grants

We are pleased to announce that Hughes Investments has committed $15,000 to support three grants at $5,000 each for the 2022 Elevate Upstate Community Vibrancy Grant program. Two of the grants will be deployed across the Upstate in the same manner that has been done since the start of the Elevate Upstate Initiative in 2013. The third grant will be for a project to be deployed at the new BridgeWay Station Development in Mauldin.
The deadline for the initial Elevate Upstate Interest Form is August 5, 2022. The deadline for the completed applications is September 16, 2022. The grant finalists will present their project during the TATT Celebrating Successes event on November 16, 2022 with the grant recipients being announced during that event.
You can find all the application material for the 2022 Elevate Upstate Grants on the grant web site. In addition, the site lists all past grant recipients as well as shares tips and ideas for potential vibrancy projects.

9th Annual New South Comedy Festival SUBMISSIONS

This year’s event will be from November 3-12th, 2022. The first weekend will primarily be stand-up and sketch comedy shows. The second weekend will primarily be improv comedy acts. Local acts will mostly be scheduled in between. However, there is some flexibility for all types of acts to be scheduled throughout the 2 week festival.

The submission fee is $30 (early bird is only $20) and, if accepted, there is no performer fee to attend or see shows. The festival is accepting submissions from Improv, Stand-up, Sketch, and Musical Comedy.

Deadline for applications is September 12th  (with the early bird discount ending August 31st). All acts will be notified of acceptance in late September. All accepted acts will receive free access to the all festival shows and after parties as well as discounts on workshops from veteran performers.

The drawing will take place on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 3:00pm EDT. All mail, phone, and internet orders must be received by 11:59pm EDT on Monday, November 14, 2022.

TICKETS

The cost to purchase a single entry (“Ticket”) for the Raffle is $125 (U.S. Funds only) and is not tax deductible.

DETAILS

  1. By entering this raffle, entrants accept and agree to be bound by all the rules, limitations and restrictions set forth here and that their names and/or likenesses may be disclosed to and used by the news media and may otherwise be used by BMC for publicity purposes.
  2. The winner may choose a new 2022 Volvo, Subaru, or Hyundai prize vehicle from Hunter Automotive Group of Fletcher, NC with an MSRP up to $50,000.
  3. Vehicle choice will be subject to the current available inventory of the dealer. BMC reserves the right to substitute a Volvo, Subaru, or Hyundai model of equal value.
  4. The winner is responsible for all taxes, delivery costs, dealer fees, and any options he or she may choose above the vehicle’s manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) greater than $50,000.
  5. The gross winnings of the raffle will be reported to the federal and state tax authorities at the MSRP and the winner is responsible for income tax withholding prior to taking title to the prize.
  6. Individuals may purchase as many tickets as they wish; however, only 1,500 tickets will be sold.
  7. Participants must be 18 years old or older.
  8. BMC employees, faculty, and students 18 or older are eligible to participate.
  9. Winnings are not redeemable for cash.
  10. If a minimum of 600 tickets is not sold, all ticket holders will receive a full refund and the raffle will not occur.
  11. BMC does not make or provide any representation, guarantee or warranty, expressed or implied, in connection with the car and accepts no liability or responsibility regarding the construction or condition of the car.

WINNINGS

Once the winner has selected a prize vehicle, the Dealer will notify BMC of the award vehicle’s MSRP. BMC will calculate the required federal income taxes due. The raffle winner is responsible for remitting the funds to BMC for the federal income tax. Brevard Music Center is required by law to report the base MSRP of the vehicle the winner chooses as gaming income to federal and state authorities and to withhold and deposit federal income taxes equal to 25% of the MSRP less the wager (raffle ticket). The winner’s payment of the federal taxes to BMC will be deposited with the US Federal Treasury and the winner will receive credit for the taxes remitted. In order for the dealer to release the winner’s vehicle, the winner will need to provide the following to BMC:

  1. A completed form W-9.
  2. Payment to BMC of the appropriate amount of federal tax withholding in cash or certified check.

Once both of these are received, BMC will authorize the dealer to release the vehicle. The winner will receive a Form W-2G by January 31, 2023 to use in preparing their 2022 income tax return.

The Members Show. It’s that time agin, the 2022-23 Members show. Anything goes, all subjects, any photo based imagery. Analog and digital manipulation in all its forms welcome. Monochrome or color, all subjects, analog, digital or antique processes, photographers of all skill levels and locations are welcome.

Our juror for the The Members Show is Meg Griffiths. Griffiths was born in Indiana and raised in Texas. She received two B.A.’s from the University of Texas in Cultural Anthropology and English Literature and earned her Master of Fine Arts in Photography from Savannah College of Art and Design. She currently lives in Denton, Texas where she is an Assistant Professor and Area Head of Photography in the Department of Visual Art at Texas Woman’s University.

35-40 Selected images will hang in the SE Center’s main gallery space for approximately one month with the opportunity to be invited for a solo show at a later date. In addition, selected images are featured in the SE Center social media accounts (FB, IG, Twitter) and an archived, online slide show. A video walkthrough of each exhibition is also featured and archived.
