Divide and Bloom-Dividing Dahlias and their Culture

Bullington Gardens is known for our expansive collection of dahlias. Each year our volunteer dahlia crew work tirelessly to ensure we have the best crop possible. These amazing plants take quite a bit of work to be successful, and it starts with dividing your tuber. Join Kim Biggerstaff and Isaac Wyatt as we walk through the culture of dahlias. We will also have a tuber dividing demo after the class. Participants will get a chance to divide a clump of tubers and take one home!

You might remember Jon from Dodge Ram Truck’s popular ad campaign as the “That thing got a HEMI?” guy or the comedian who won the world wide show “Last Comic Standing” with the most votes ever cast on NBC or as “Raymus, the pot smoking farmer” in Harold and Kumar: Escape From Guantanamo Bay. Either way Jon Reep is a legendary powerhouse comedian! A national touring comedian whose contemporary country clean point of view has won over legions of fans in theaters, comedy clubs, and on tv and in film. As a stand-up he’s built a following through his hilarious comedy specials on Comedy Central, Netflix, and Amazon Prime. He can be seen in Netflix’s “Brad Paisley’s Comedy Rodeo” and his standup special on Amazon Prime “Ginger Beard Man” or his new standup album “Ginger Pain”.

Ride the Lowcountry 2025

On Saturday, April 12th, cyclists can choose from 33, 43, 65, or 100-mile routes that wind through serene marshlands, lush woodlands, and the tranquil roads of the Francis Marion National Forest. Riders will enjoy a supportive experience with pace groups and a celebratory post-ride lunch to wrap up the day. The adventure continues on Sunday, April 13th, with two bonus ride options: a 42-mile scenic road ride (with a 27-mile option) that tours downtown Charleston, crosses the Ravenel Bridge, and showcases picturesque coastal views, or a 30-mile gravel ride through the rugged beauty of Francis Marion National Forest. Please note that Sunday rides are unsupported, so participants should bring water and snacks.

Proceeds from Ride the Lowcountry 2025 support local cycling advocacy organizations, Charleston Moves and the Palmetto Cycling Coalition, as well as the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in their fight to end MS. Dubbed by Jerry Seinfeld as the “best young up and coming comic,” Mark Normand has quickly become one of the most talked about touring comedians on the scene.  Normand’s 2023 one-hour Netflix special, SOUP TO NUTS, was a staple in the streamers’ Top Ten for several weeks.  This follows Normand’s self-released special, 2020’s OUT TO LUNCH which amassed over 12 million views on YouTube.  He also starred on Netflix’s Season 3 of THE STAND UPS.

Normand’s popularity has also translated to tours internationally to such countries as Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Spain, Norway and Portugal.
An extremely prolific stand-up, the New Orleans born comedian previously had two Comedy Central specials and has made an unparalleled seven appearances on “Conan,” four appearances on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,” and has also appeared on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” Mark is a frequent guest on “The Joe Rogan Experience,” and hosts his own podcasts “Tuesdays with Stories” and “We Might Be Drunk.”
