To kick the night off, there will be a 50’s Sock Hop from 6-7 pm for ticket holders in the Pavilion — so, if you choose to, pull out the poodle skirts and bobby socks, guy’s grab the pomade and dust off your blue suede shoes! Steve Martin and Martin Short’s “The Dukes of Funnytown!” is a show that redefines the form in unexpected and profound ways, from two of the funniest, most influential and acclaimed talents of the past century. Their humor is often subversive, but it is always a joyous self-deprecating romp from two comedy masters driven to make each other laugh as much as the audience. The jokes come at you at a rapid-fire pace with little set-up and big punch lines as they mock Hollywood and the fickle nature of celebrity, but the comedy truly soars when they lovingly (and relentlessly) roast each other. Martin and Short’s chemistry and timing on stage reflects a friendship forged over three decades which developed when they met for the first time on the set of the 1986 film “Three Amigos.” These two titans of comedy have been touring together since 2015, when they launched their first live show entitled “A Very Stupid Conversation.”

Laughing Stock Improv has been performing around Greenville since 2007 and we’re excited to play another show full hour of Fast and Funny improv games. HOPPIN’ GVL, Sept. 22nd, 7:30-8:30pm, $5.00 at door (cash or card)

Beginner’s workshop lesson at 7:30 P.M., then 8-11 P.M. Contra Dance with Country Waltzing at the break and the final dance. This is a partner dance but it’s not necessary to come with a partner. We have different live bands and callers.

Into the Mythic is an exploration of mythological paradigms, tropes, and characters through the lens of theatrical fusion dance. The Creature Feature will kick off the spookiest month of the year, celebrating mythological characters through dance and music. Join us for a fabulous event at the Artistry Gallery on October 5th for an evening you will not forget!
Dance performances throughout the evening from the niad dance company and friends. Live music from Morgan of the Pines, southern gothic folk, and Adam Murphree of Wasted Wine presenting Spooky Tales of South Carolina. Participate in our costume contest, watch the Witch’s Dance flash mob, and thrill in our fire dancers, then break out your dancing shoes and join in the fun for the Halloween after party dance party!
We will have We Got the Beets food truck, face painting, and beer and wine all available for purchase at the event. So, grab your tickets, put on your spookiest or most fantastical gear, and come out for A Creature Feature!
