Get ready to spice up your summer because Salsa at Sunset is back and better than ever! On June 21st, July 19th, and August 16th, 2024, join Upstate International and BDV Solutions, the presenting sponsor, at Camperdown Plaza for an evening of music and dancing. Salsa at Sunset is an annual three-date event celebrating Latin music and culture. This free, family-friendly event offers options for drinks, food, and a cash bar, so you don’t have to go far from the dance floor. Alcohol wristbands will be available for purchase for $3 or 2 for $5. We have everything you need for a great night of Salsa fun!
Upstate International bringing together some favored Salsa bands, such as Willie Ziavino & C.O.T. Band for June 21st, David Rodriguez and The Latin Hustle for August 16th, and July 19th band is To Be Announced, to keep you dancing all night long from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. You’ll also have the chance to learn how to Salsa from Pura Alegría Dance instructors starting at 6:15pm, so even if you’re a beginner, you’ll be able to join in on the fun.
Upstate International is excited to be bringing back Salsa at Sunset for an 8th season during Summer 2024. Attending this free event provides a great opportunity to learn new dance moves, socialize with friends and family, and enjoy a night of live Latin music and dancing. Attendance brings in over 1000+ people per event, making it a great opportunity to meet new people and expand your social network. Old Farmer’s Ball hosts family dances and waltzes at the Harvest House Community Center.
Beginner’s workshop lesson at 7:30 P.M., then 8-11 P.M. Contra Dance with Country Waltzing at the break and the final dance. This is a partner dance but it’s not necessary to come with a partner. We have different live bands and callers.

To kick the night off, there will be a 50’s Sock Hop from 6-7 pm for ticket holders in the Pavilion — so, if you choose to, pull out the poodle skirts and bobby socks, guy’s grab the pomade and dust off your blue suede shoes! Into the Mythic is an exploration of mythological paradigms, tropes, and characters through the lens of theatrical fusion dance. The Creature Feature will kick off the spookiest month of the year, celebrating mythological characters through dance and music. Join us for a fabulous event at the Artistry Gallery on October 5th for an evening you will not forget!
Dance performances throughout the evening from the niad dance company and friends. Live music from Morgan of the Pines, southern gothic folk, and Adam Murphree of Wasted Wine presenting Spooky Tales of South Carolina. Participate in our costume contest, watch the Witch’s Dance flash mob, and thrill in our fire dancers, then break out your dancing shoes and join in the fun for the Halloween after party dance party!
We will have We Got the Beets food truck, face painting, and beer and wine all available for purchase at the event. So, grab your tickets, put on your spookiest or most fantastical gear, and come out for A Creature Feature!
