The TL Collective was founded by Micaela Taylor in 2016, ignited by her passion to create engaging and diverse work. One of today’s most in-demand choreographers, Taylor’s versatile 8-member company will make their Peace Center debut this April. The TL Collective will perform BlueNav, a new work focusing on the unified calm during the storm. Inspired by the story of a United States Army Corporal who served as a combat medic with an infantry company in World War II, Desmond Doss, who saved 75 men in combat trapped at the top of the escarpment.
Micaela Taylor is the face of the future, with one of the most critically acclaimed dance companies on the West Coast.

Ballet Spartanburg’s CARMINA BURANA – ONE NIGHT ONLY
Please join us for champagne at 7:00 pm in the Twichell lobby with the performance following at 7:30 pm.
Beautiful. Gripping. Dynamic. Set to the powerful music of German composer Carl Orff, Carmina Burana tells the story of the cycle of life and love. Based on original poems written by Bavarian monks in the 11th to 13th centuries, Carmina Burana’s riveting score performed by The Spartanburg Master Chorale & Orchestra Petrie School of Music at Converse University. Choreography by Carlos Agudelo highlights the strength of the Professional Company and the passion of dance.
Noted as one of the most intense ballets of our century, Carmina Burana is a breathtaking and compelling finale of the 2023-2024 Ballet Spartanburg’s season.

During his days in middle school, Roger’s favorite pastime is to daydream about life as a pirate. One day during history class, Roger notices outside that his crush, Lila, has gotten caught in a nasty storm that came out of nowhere. Roger’s knowledge of the confidence and bravery it takes to be a pirate leads him to run out and save her. The storm gets the best of him though, and he collapses on the ground. When he wakes up, he finds himself on a beach. Confused as to why he is here, he begins to investigate. He notices he is surrounded by people who an evil ruler seemingly leads.
Interestingly enough, this ruler looks a lot like his middle school principal. Still trying to grasp what is happening around him, he notices Lila has become a princess and has been captured by the evil ruler. He decides to try and rescue her and everyone under his rule. Suddenly, another storm breaks, and Roger finds himself once again back in his classroom. Confused by all that has happened, he wonders if it was all just a dream or if he really was a pirate saving his princess.
