Converse Theatre & Dance presents three diversified and thought provoking plays in one production for an experience that explores fate and connection, the folly of human choice and inner strength.

Act 1 includes Samuel Beckett’s absurdist play COME AND GO and Benjamin Bettenbender’s dark comedy THE SIREN SONG OF STEPHEN JAY GOULD.
Act 2 features a new feminist twist on Shakespeare’s Hamlet with Jeff Wanshel’s breathtaking adaptation, OPHELIA.

Clemson Career Workshop (CCW) aims to expose high-achieving, underrepresented high school students to higher education, specifically Clemson University. They are recruiting high school sophomores who will be juniors after this summer to participate in the two-year program. Scholarships to CCW students who complete the program and attend Clemson! We have several programs and initiatives at Clemson University that illuminate pathways to college, bridge the opportunity gap, and create a college-going culture for K-12 students in South Carolina and beyond. Here, you will find our three signature programs (Clemson Career WorkshopEmerging Scholars, and Tiger Alliance) and their eligibility requirements. Please read through each program carefully as you seek to apply, as we only consider eligible students during the acceptance process.

*Be able to respect the confidential nature of the paperwork involved.

If so, this may be your calling. Our VITA Greeters welcome the neighbors upon their arrival. During check-in, you will make sure they have the needed and completed documents for our tax preparers. You do NOT need to have any knowledge of taxes to participate in this activity.

We offer this assistance from the end of January to mid April. The weekly shifts are Tuesday and Thursday from 5pm to 8pm and Saturday from 8:30am to 1:30pm. We are asking that volunteers can do at least one shift most weeks.

We need volunteers to pack nearly 1,500 meals every Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until approximately 10:00 a.m. The food is prepared by our kitchen staff and set-up in an assembly line for packaging.

Meals on Wheels also strives to help the pets of the homebound in Greenville. We need volunteers to package dog and cat food for monthly distribution and to organize pet food drives.

This First Friday, March 1st from 5-7pm, GCCA will host the 2024 Greenville County Schools Elementary art show reception in the second floor Gray Loft. Over 200 student artworks will be showcased representing over 50 elementary schools from across Greenville County. The Greenville County Schools Elementary art show will be on display at GCCA through March 8th during normal visiting hours.

    Be part of a unique virtual stargazing community as we gather online to explore the constellations, bright stars, planets and deep sky objects of the winter night sky with local astronomer Stephan Martin as our guide. All you need is a smartphone or mobile device, a free downloadable astronomy app and an internet connection to join from the warmth and safety of your own stargazing location. Steve will point out some of the celestial wonders of the night sky during this time of year and share their myths and legends.

    Stephan Martin is an astronomer and educator who taught at colleges and universities for more than 25 years. He has lectured on light pollution and its effects on the environment and has offered stargazing and introductory astronomy workshops domestically and internationally. Explore the Nature Center after dark!

This evening kids program includes fun and educational crafts, games, and an opportunity to meet a live animal!  After learning about night time critters in the classroom, we head outdoors to explore the Nature Center and visit with our nocturnal residents.
Please keep in mind that during the outdoor portion, we will be walking on rough terrain in dark conditions.
Recommended for kids ages 5-12
*Cancellation policy: Cancellations must be made 1 week prior to the event for a full refund.  If the event is cancelled due to weather, full refunds will be issued.
