Announcing 8 weeks of Fall Musical Theatre/Theatre Camps for rising K-12th Graders and Adults!
With new content for every program,
returning students will always have the chance to dive into fresh material.

Do you know a student who is interested in Aviation?
Six individuals between 16-20 years old will have the opportunity to learn from the full resources available at the Spartanburg Memorial Downtown Airport this summer. Piloted in partnership with the airport’s aviation groups and the Spartanburg Science Center, students will be taken through a seven week program. At the conclusion of the course the group will present their experiences in a digital format to members of each of the contributing organizations.

Please email a 250-300 word essay, written by your child explaining why they want to participate in the program. This should be student written: email the form below and the essay to [email protected].
VIRTUAL RAILFAN is live from the Hub City RR Museum in Spartanburg.
The Virtual Railfan cameras were installed on Tuesday, July 6th at the Hub City Railroad Museum. There is one camera looking north and one looking south. The Hub City RR Museum wants to thank the City of Spartanburg for allowing us to install the cameras, and to Virtual Railfan for the install. We have already seen over 300 railfans at one time watching the video feed.

Carolina Railroad Heritage Association
The Carolina Railroad Heritage Association is a <501(c)(3)> not for profit local association of approximately eighty members who enjoy railroads and railroad history. The CRHA is currently meeting the third Friday of each month in Fountain Inn, SC at 7:00 pm. Programs at the meetings include presentations on historical and current railroads and are presented by members as well as outside speakers. Our activities include a photo contest, occasional field trips to local railroad sites, picnics and a December pot luck dinner. CRHA members volunteer at our museum and caboose in Spartanburg, SC. If you have an interest in railroads, contact Dave Winans at [email protected] for more information about the CRHA.

This program provides free access for families of children, teenagers, and young adults who would benefit from a sensory-friendly experience and quieter setting at the museum.
Guests who are neurodiverse, autistic, or have other disabilities can experience the museum’s exhibitions at their own pace and enjoy other special activities.
General Admission to Accessibility Morning is Free for participants.
Accessibility Morning Schedule:
- 9 – 11 a.m. | Sensory Room Available
- 9 – 10 a.m. | Program Partners Present
- 9:30 – 9:45 a.m. | Character Meet-and-Greet with The Cat in the Hat
- 9:45 a.m. | Select Sensory Show – Earth, Moon and Sun planetarium experience *
An ASL Interpreter will be available during the 9:30 a.m. story time and the 9:45 a.m. sensory show. ASL interpretation is provided by certified interpreters through the SC School for the Deaf and Blind.
*Sensory Friendly Shows will alternate monthly between planetarium and 4D theater experiences. Shows feature lowered volume, however 4d experiences still include enhanced effects, including bursts of air, rumbling seats, leg ticklers, bubbles and snow, lighting effects, and squirts of water. Accessibility Morning shows are free but space is limited.

The holdings in our library are more than 2,800 strong making it a wonderful resource for teachers, students and researchers. From city directories, maps and photographs, to many family genealogies, we have information that can help with your research.

Have you ever wondered whether the plants around you have medicinal properties? If so, then this class is for you! We will be learning about a variety of plants, both native and non-native, that can be used to relieve a number of everyday health concerns. We will also cover the basics of salve and tincture making! You only need to bring yourself, your curiosity, and something to write on! The information presented in this class is intended for educational purposes and should not be considered an endorsement of or recommendation for any medical treatment. Virtual Planetarium Sky Tour
Downtown Spartanburg will get a little loud on Sept. 14 as College Fest returns, bringing students from all seven Spartanburg County colleges together for a dance party on Morgan Square. The event is part of a strategy to connect students more closely to Spartanburg in hopes of keeping them here after graduation.
A not-for-profit consortium of Spartanburg’s seven public and private accredited colleges and universities, in partnership with the City of Spartanburg.
College Town capitalizes on the advantages offered by the large number of diverse colleges in order to create educational, social, service and career development opportunities for students.
