The Power in the Flower Campaign is an effective branding tool to visually connect our towns and create a sense of harmony, cohesion, and beauty. For this year’s project, we would love to see the participation grow even more!
Thanks to the ongoing commitment of a core group of volunteers from the Lake Lure Flowering Bridge, the Town of Lake Lure, and the Chimney Rock Village Community Development Association, the Chamber is able to sell the hanging flower baskets or pots at a minimal cost. Our volunteers will do all the legwork for you.
All you have to do is make your selections, and pay for your order. We’ll do the rest! To participate, you must order and pay by April 22nd.

Please join us for the 2019 Donate Life Day Proclamation at the State House as we celebrate 10 years of having the South Carolina Donor Registry. The event starts at 11 AM with the Honorable Henry McMaster, Governor of South Carolina and Senator Katrina Shealy proclaiming Donate Life Day and April as Donate Life Month during a press conference at the 1st Floor lobby. We would like as many supporters, volunteers, and staff as possible to be present for the press conference. Immediately following the press conference (weather permitting), we will have a special photo opportunity on the steps of the State House. NOTE: Please wear either Donate Life Blue or Green in support of the day and our registry.

CANCELLED TO RAINDATE APRIL 27th, SAME LOCATION, SAME TIME
Spring run to JVC to lend support with various items they use for their parent training classes, victim advocacy, education seminars, counseling, etc.
We meet around noon at the Greenville Shrine Club and ride to the JVC to deliver the supplies. Kick stands up 1:15.
Please review wishlist provided below.
-Individually packaged snacks: pretzels, goldfish crackers, teddy grahams, fruit chews, baked chips, pretzels, candy, cookies, trail mix, chewy granola bars, etc. These are used in our children’s waiting area as well for all of our groups (parenting, teen groups, volunteer training, etc.)
-Bottled water, juice boxes
-Blank recordable dvd’s (used to record our forensic interviews)
-Copy paper & Office Supplies (Legal pads, large manila envelopes, 2 pocket red folders, card stock, etc.)
-Toilet paper and Kleenex
-Paper plates, disposable forks/knives/spoons, disposable cups (16+ oz)
-Large black trash bags
-Swiffer mop refills and Clorox wipes
-Gift cards to be used for any of the above
-Gas or grocery gift cards for clients
-New clothing & closed-toe shoes for women’s ER clothes closets (pants, tops, sweat suits)

Are you looking for an excuse to knit or crochet for a good cause? Help make baby hats and blankets and adult hats, scarves, and slippers to support at-risk newborns and homeless adults. Your handmade knitwear will keep our neighbors warm. Volunteers with basic skills in knitting or crocheting are welcome. Please bring your own needles or crochet hooks and a pattern.

SPACE and Thicketty Mountain Farm are thrilled to announce our new spring fundraiser: Bonnamoo: a celebration of music, food, and farms. On April 24th from 5-6pm, those who have signed up to volunteer for Bonnamoo are invited to come to a volunteer planning session at the FR8YRD from 5-6pm. There they’ll receive a t-shirt and a free beer and will learn more about the event and their responsibilities.
At 6pm, Baker Maultsby will take the stage for some live music! All are invited to come out and listen to some great music and enjoy some fun with the SPACE community (not just for volunteers, everyone is welcome).

The 2018 “Par for the Clot” fundraiser was a huge success! We are so grateful to all our partners in giving, our volunteers and teams! The funds raised last year helped to provide education and support to our 353 families. Proceeds funded our advocacy initiatives protecting access to care and quality treatment, and many supportive services; including 21 national education and college scholarships, 35 compassionate care requests, funding for NHF research and national support initiatives, educational camps for over 65 families and teens, and we were able to provide comfort to our many families affected by bleeding disorders. As South Carolina’s leading resource for children and families affected by bleeding disorders, HSC maintains close relationships with our community, providing them the opportunity to network with other families experiencing the same situations, seeking guidance and emotional support, for an often anxiety-ridden and frightening diagnosis. We support our families from the initial diagnosis throughout their lifetime. We serve the entire state of South Carolina and are a tight-knit community family.
We invite you all to join us again this year, and if this is your first time with the Par for the Clot Tournament, we know you will have a fun time in joining us for this worthy cause.
