Ready2Run: What Women Candidates Need to Know

Presented in partnership with the Center for American Women and Politics

Ready to Run® is a non-partisan campaign training program to encourage women to run for elective office, position themselves for appointive office, work on a campaign, or get involved in public life in other ways. This series of five sessions will cover fundraising, positioning oneself for elected office, media training, the nuts and bolts of organizing a campaign, mobilizing voters, and crafting a message. You may register for all or selected sessions in the series.

This first session covers everything female candidates need to know to get started. One of the nation’s leading pollsters, Celinda Lake, will provide skill-building information around public opinion research on women candidates, including key findings on the advantages and disadvantages facing women running for office, the likeability vs. qualifications conundrum, and messages that are convincing to voters to support women candidates.
