If so, this may be your calling. Our VITA Greeters welcome the neighbors upon their arrival. During check-in, you will make sure they have the needed and completed documents for our tax preparers. You do NOT need to have any knowledge of taxes to participate in this activity.

We offer this assistance from the end of January to mid April. The weekly shifts are Tuesday and Thursday from 5pm to 8pm and Saturday from 8:30am to 1:30pm. We are asking that volunteers can do at least one shift most weeks.

MEAL PACKAGING

We need volunteers to pack nearly 1,500 meals every Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until approximately 10:00 a.m. The food is prepared by our kitchen staff and set-up in an assembly line for packaging.

Pet Food Packaging

PET FOOD PACKAGING

Meals on Wheels also strives to help the pets of the homebound in Greenville. We need volunteers to package dog and cat food for monthly distribution and to organize pet food drives.

Tyger River Foundation’s Volunteer Litter+ Invasives Clean-Up – @ Nesbitt Shoals

Nesbitt Shoals Nature Park
The Nesbitt Shoals Nature Park offers the first public river access point on the Tyger River. The park is private property, open to the public, that offers an opportunity for Spartanburg County residents and visitors to enjoy access to the beauty of the Tyger River. Whether your interest is kayaking, fishing, birding, or hiking along the river, we invite everyone to come visit and enjoy all that the Nesbitt Shoals Nature Park has to offer.

Join us for another feel good volunteer session of taking the fight to litter and invasive plants at the beautiful Nesbitt Shoals Nature Park! As usual, tools, supplies, snacks and drinks will be provided as we continue taking care of important public resources within the Tyger River Basin.

We’ll meet at the park’s main parking lot on Saturday, March 9th at 9am for a 2hr clean-up effort, all while enjoying and exploring this wonderful set of shoals.
