The Hunter Subaru Trick or Trail 5k & 1 Mile Spooky Sprint lets runners experience the beauty of DuPont State Forest in a unique nighttime racing format.
The only race of its kind in the region, participants will strap on headlamps and light up the night as they duke it out in the dusk. The twists and turns of DuPont’s famous trail system will dare them to push forward, not knowing what bogies and specters might lurk around each corner! The One Mile Spooky Sprint will be Halloween themed, and a great change for kids and kids-at-heart to break in their costumes a day early, without stressing about time limits, as this event is untimed!

The word kirtan stems from a Sanskrit root that means to cut through. David Newman (teacher of kirtan) says kirtan is also “a practice for cutting through the idea of separation, for connecting to our hearts and connecting to the moment through sound.”
Please join us for a blissful evening enjoying the Bhakti Yoga practice of Kirtan, a tradition of singing universal mantras in a call and response format. Bhakti yoga is one of the four main yogic paths to enlightenment. Bhakti means “devotion” or “love” and this path contains various practices to unite the bhakta with the divine. One of those practices, Kirtan is the most popular path in the west, as it invites everyone to participate in whatever way feels right for them. It only requires your showing up with an open mind and a joyful spirit. During the Kirtan we will blend our voices to create a deep sense of connection to something greater than ourselves, as we purify our hearts and liberate our souls with this ancient devotional practice.

Eat, drink and be merry! Join us this Saturday (and every Saturday) from 7pm to 10pm as we host live local talent! The talent in our beautiful city is incredible, so come out for dinner and live music. Saturday, February 3rd we will have the acoustic sounds of Katie D. Check out our website for a list of all artists that will be playing!

Jim loves to gamble and will offer to bet on anything and everything, from horse races to dogfights, to the health of the local parson’s wife. When Jim catches a frog, whom he names Dan’l Webster, he offers to bet $40 to anyone in Calaveras County that can produce a frog that will out-jump Dan’l. Filled with scheming, silliness and Mark Twain’s traditional wit, this classic story reaffirms that most of life’s lessons can be taught with a laugh. Approximately one hour in length.
