Beginning with a traditional jazz warm-up and center exercises, students will learn new vocabulary, hone their dance skills, and practice picking up fun musical theatre choreography! In this week-long, half-day acting session, students will work with a team of industry experts to explore the nuances of acting technique and performance. With a balanced combination of training, rehearsal, and performance, young artists will take daily acting, improvisation, voice and speech, and movement classes, applying these skills in an original showcase presented at the end of the week for a small audience. This week is perfectly suited for students who are passionate about theatre, excited to collaborate with peers and professionals, and interested in expanding their theatre skill set. No previous experience required. Space is limited.

Unlock your imagination in this fast-paced, on-your-feet introductory improv class! Students will learn to think outside of the box, collaborate, quickly develop characters, and build on a creative idea by saying “yes! and…”  Through exercises, improv games, and creative prompts young artists will learn to take risks, access creativity, gain confidence, meaningfully connect with peers, and discover the FUN in fundamental improvisation.

This fierce, Outdoor Live Reality Competition Show will squeeze an entire season of Dragalicious hilarity and talent into two hours of RuPaul-inspired challenges such as Snatch Game (contestants impersonate celebrities in a game show); The Library (contestants roast one another); and the ever-popular finale – Lipsync for Your Life.

Hosting the benefit is local legend Patti O’Furniture while the contestants will be judged by a Who’s Who in the Upstate LGBTQ+ community including entertainer Delighted TobehereIvy Hill (Gender Benders), John Fagan (The Warehouse Theatre’s Upstate Shakespeare Festival), Vaughn Newman (Vaughn Newman Dance). Prizes will be awarded for each challenge with the winner taking home the $500 GRAND PRIZE and more opportunities for public and online appearances on behalf of Proud Mary Theatre Company.
