SC Rural Transit Day serves as a pivotal platform dedicated to championing the interests of South Carolina’s rural communities, aiming to address the distinctive transportation challenges they face while fostering connections to alleviate existing disparities and inequities. The event serves as a nexus for advocacy, bringing together elected representatives, various organizations, stakeholders, and transit experts to delve into the intricacies of rural transportation.
Throughout the duration of this comprehensive day-long event, participants engage in a dialogue that underscores the significance of rural transit, highlighting its potential to empower communities and stimulate economic growth. Through a diverse array of perspectives and insights, attendees gain a deeper understanding of the multifaceted benefits that robust rural transportation networks offer, not only enhancing community cohesion but also bolstering regional economies.
Who Should Attend
By bringing together diverse stakeholders, the Rural Transit Day event can facilitate collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the development of innovative solutions to improve transit services in rural communities.
Individuals who might benefit from attending are, Government Officials: Representatives from local, state, and federal government agencies responsible for transportation policies, funding, and rural development. Transit Operators: Managers and staff from rural transit agencies, bus companies, and other transportation service providers operating in rural areas. Create custom characters, make fantasy maps, run your own mini campaign, and learn about all things Dungeons & Dragons. Open to the first 25 teens ages 12-18 or entering grades 7-12.
Eat pizza and battle to be the best brawler. Compete to win a $50 Amazon gift card in the adults-only bracket, then play the winner of the teen bracket for SCPL’s Smash Bros. Champion trophy.

West Greenville Community Center will be hosting Family Game Nights at the Community Center every 3rd Monday. The event will allow the community to come out and enjoy a family friendly atmosphere all while getting to know their neighbors in the West Greenville Community.
Greenville Go Club is a group of gamers who play the strategy board game know as ‘go’ (or baduk). They have plenty of equipment and the group is free. They are very happy to teach new players and do teaching games and group game reviews as well.

Go is an abstract board game for two players, in which the aim is to surround more territory than the opponent. It has very simple rules and is easy to learn, but challenging to master! The game originated in ancient China more than 2,500 years ago and is one of the oldest board games played today.
Practice safety techniques on a life-sized stuffed dog and meet a real therapy dog. Ages 3-7.
Elevate Upstate Grant Workshop
Join TATT and Hughes Investments at Bridgeway Station on July 25, 2024 to learn more about applying for an Elevate Upstate Grant.
Wear white to glow in the dark for cosmic Bingo and blacklight crafts.
Attendees are guaranteed the Glow-in-the-Dark Book Box that includes snacks, trinkets, and a book perfect for fans of Illuminae and These Broken Stars.
Leftovers will be available by lottery after the program with priority given to teens who have never received a Book Box before. The form will be open until Thursday, August 1st at 11:59 p.m., and you can find it here: forms.gle…

Drop in and join us for a board game night. You can choose from a few of the games in our collection or bring your own games to play. You’re more than welcome to bring your kids along if you’d like to learn and play games together. A staff member will be present to suggest games for play and/or explain rules to players. Registration is not required.
