Ikebana International, Asheville Chapter 74, is hosting an ikebana exhibition September 23-24 at the NC Arboretum.    There will be ikebana designs for viewing throughout the weekend and members will be available to explain  ikebana flower arranging techniques and materials.   The exhibition will feature ikebana designs from the four main schools.   There will be table-top designs, pedestal designs and floor/installation designs to show a full range of how ikebana can be displayed.

Geeks Who Drink and Dave & Buster’s have teamed up to bring you the Dave & Buster’s Trivai Show. It’s a whole new format that combinest he super-social Geeks Who Drink trivia night with all the frenetic game-show action you’d expect from Dave & Buster’s. Get ready for pop culture-centric trivia where winners receive Power Cards. In between rounds, join in on the physical challenge fun for bonus prizes – or just gawk at the people who do. All in all, it’s two hours and it’s free to play. No reservations needed, just show up! Teams can be up to six players, so bring your smartest friends (or some likable dummies)—or come solo. Beginner’s workshop lesson at 7:30 P.M., then 8-11 P.M. Contra Dance with Country Waltzing at the break and the final dance. This is a partner dance but it’s not necessary to come with a partner. We have different live bands and callers.

Ballet Hispánico is the largest Latine/Latinx/Hispanic cultural organization in the United States and one of America’s Cultural Treasures. Through its exemplary artistry, distinguished training program, and deep-rooted community engagement, Ballet Hispánico champions and amplifies Latinx voices in the field. As it looks to the future, Ballet Hispánico is pushing the culture forward on issues of dance and Hispanic creative expression.

We’ve heard your valuable feedback, and now you don’t have to hear us! Beginning May 4, 2021, the period between 8 and 10 a.m. on the first Tuesday morning of every month will be reserved for “Meditative Mornings,” a pause for quiet time in our gardens and on our trails. During this time, our working garden crew will abstain from using leaf blowers, mowers and other equipment so you can be sure to enjoy the sounds of birds and the wind in the trees.

Take advantage of half-price parking on the first Tuesday of every month and come out to the Arboretum to enjoy a Meditative Morning!

Join us for trivia night at The Warehouse at Midtown in Greenville.

Trivia runs from about 7-9pm and is free to play with prizes for the top teams.

The Warehouse at Midtown is a community venue located in Greenville off Laurens Rd. Its a food hall & brewery/bar (optional).

We’ll be there around 6:00/6:30 to grab a table and will post the exact location in the event chat.
