Spring Orchestral Concert
Mar 28 @ 7:00 pm
Covenant Church

Saint- Saens – Introduction and Rondo Cappriccio. Future Star Competition winner Olivia Lee performs with Foothills Philharmonic a work that is in the repertoire of all the great violinists. A fantasy in the Spanish manner, it is full of poetry and lyricism, syncopation and virtuosity with a finale where the violin plays to the point of exhaustion.

Glière – Symphony No. 1 in E flat Major. This powerful symphony is unmistakenly Russian. It starts off light then serious; it combines ballet music with folk songs; then becomes somber and reflective before being dragged back into the light with echoes of the first movement. This symphony is like “moody Russian music on happy pills.”
Loaves and Fishes will be in the lobby where you can learn how you can they rescue surplus food and redistribute it, free of charge, to reduce food insecurity in Greenville County.

Join us at the reception following the concert and get to know the musicians over food and conversation. Concert, reception and parking are all – absolutely Free.

American Dreams
Apr 25 @ 7:00 pm
Twichell Auditorium

The American Dream Lives On

From distant shores to dazzling stages, this program tells the story of artists who left their homelands in search of new opportunities, bringing with them rich musical traditions that would flourish in America. Their works—filled with passion, movement, and innovation—embody the spirit of reinvention and triumph. Dai Wei’s Dancing Moonlight shimmers with vibrant energy, blending Eastern and Western influences in a mesmerizing musical dialogue. Acclaimed violinist Vijay Gupta takes center stage for Samuel Barber’s Violin Concerto, a work of lyrical beauty and virtuosic brilliance that stands as a testament to Neo-Romanticism. Finally, Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances bursts with rhythmic fire and nostalgia, a dazzling reflection on past and future. This season finale is one of wonder, resilience, and breathtaking music.
