Greenville City Council accepted a $100,000 donation from the Upstate Greenways and Trails Alliance to help construct a pedestrian bridge along the Swamp Rabbit over Verdae Boulevard.
Currently a street level crossing with signals, the bridge will provide a safer path for walkers and bikers. Council accepted the donation toward the $4.5 million project on Feb. 10. Construction should begin this spring.
