The Greenville Zoo invites zoo-goers to tap into the wild at the annual Brew in the Zoo presented by RJ Rockers Brewing Company.
The fundraising event, set for Friday, May 31 from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm, will provide attendees with the opportunity to sample an assortment of beer, lite fare and enjoy live music on the Main Stage by Cody Webb, all while exploring the zoo after-hours.
The zoo will offer early admission to the event again this year, which will give ticket holders the chance to enter the zoo a half hour before the start time and take part in an exclusive sampling of a specialty brew made just for the event. Ingredients for the special “zoo brew” will be selected by the Greenville Zoo’s Masai Giraffes with the assistance of their zookeepers, who gives them an assortment of fruit to choose from. RJ Rockers owner and brewer Mark Johnsen will create the special brew. Early admission and VIP ticket holders will also receive a limited edition Brew in the Zoo t-shirt.
Brew in the Zoo will showcase beer from: RJ Rockers Brewery, Abita Brewing Company, Ballast Point Brewing Company, Birdsong Brewing Company, Cigar City Brewing, DuClaw Brewing Company, Funky Buddha Brewery, Guinness, Highland Brewing Company, Itz Spritz, Oskar Blues Brewery, Southbound Brewing Company, SweetWater Brewing Company, Wild Heaven Beer and Yee-Haw Brewing Company! The event will also feature food vendors including The Chocolate Moose, Henry’s Smokehouse, Tucanos Brazilian Grill, Texas Roadhouse, Jimmy John’s, Marco’s Pizza, Cantina 76, Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar and O Taste and See Hot Mini Donuts!
Brew in the Zoo is open to adults age 21 and older, and a photo ID will be required to enter. Children will not be admitted to the event. Smoking and vaping are not allowed inside the zoo and pets are not permitted.
Brew in the Zoo will take place rain or shine. The Greenville Zoo will not issue refunds for this event, tickets are non-refundable. If you purchase a ticket and are unable to attend, the ticket can be sold or given away to another 21 year old and older. They must bring their photo ID and ticket to the event.
Proceeds from Brew in the Zoo will help support various programs throughout the zoo, including animal enrichment and exhibit renovations. For each ticket sold, $5 will be donated to the Madagascar Fauna Flora Group.
