We put the FUN in FUNraiser! What’s better than roasting a bunch of writerly types? Why, inviting the best roasters in town, that’s what—all to help Emrys raise money to keep our movable feast of contests, scholarships and other super-cool programs going. The hilarious stars of Café and Then Some, Mary Louise Earl McDaniel Hampton Pinckney and Veranda Bannister, perform roasts better than anybody, and during our event from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 28, they’ll bring their comedic genius and zany perspective to lampoon the 35-year history of the Emrys Foundation, its programs, and members, right up to our current and future activities— all in good-natured fun(raising), of course.
