All through January, we’ll feature a different business and prize package that you can win on both Instagram and Facebook…. Every. Single. Day.

The Cooperative Extension of Polk County is hosting our annual berry plant sale. This year, the Cooperative Extension director has chosen four varieties of blueberries, two varieties of raspberries, two varieties of strawberries, and one blackberry variety that have proven to specifically thrive in the North Carolina Foothills.
Orders will be accepted for plants now through February 22 and will be available for pickup in mid-March. Proceeds from this fundraiser go to support the activities, classes, and research that make the Cooperative Extension such a vital part of the Polk County community. Pop-in to have some musical fun! Between sessions, Rebecca Smith, Garden children’s musician, offers pop-up classes!
Rebecca will inspire you and your seedling or sprout to sing and dance to nature-themed music. Imaginations will soar as your child learns to sing in tune and move to rhythm.
Classes are outside on pretty days! Each class ends with an instrument petting zoo where your child can play a variety of instruments!

“New Creations” is the current art exhibition at West Main Artists Co-op, 578 W. Main St., Spartanburg.
It continues through Feb. 2, showcasing the creative work of WMAC’s seven newest members: photographer Peter Harding, glass artist Richard Debus, ceramist Patrick Henry, painter Andy Donnan, glass artist Judy Martin, painter Roderice Cardell (“TheMadddArtist”) and leather artist Dewi Maya.
The artworks can be viewed by the public at no cost from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturday.

The sky is clear; you’re likely to find a quiet spot to sit and enjoy the peacefulness. You may even see a critter scamper by you in the forest.
