This April, SMC Theatre will perform “The Mousetrap,” an intense murder mystery. The performances are April 4-6 at 7:30 p.m. and April 7 at 2:30 p.m. in Gibbs Auditorium (located inside Ellis Hall on Spartanburg Methodist College’s campus). Each performance is free and open to the public.
Isolated by a snowstorm, strangers are forced to play detective when members of the group start getting killed. “The Mousetrap” was written by Agatha Christie, a novelist and playwright whose works include “Murder on the Orient Express.” Known as the “Queen of Crime,” Christie captivates her audience with suspenseful plots.

Like the music scene in cities like Chicago, New York, and San Francisco, where classical players have had a lot of success performing in casual venues more typically associated with pop genres, Spartanburg is working to be added to that list of cities!
Due to its success last year, the Petrie School of Music and Converse School of the Arts has again partnered with Ciclops Cyderi & Brewery to provide a series of performance events at the brewery! This series will be a family-friendly, free, way to offer high quality music in a relaxed atmosphere. Musical styles ranging from Opera, Classical Art Song, Chamber Music to Musical Theatre, Pop, New Music & Folk. This is a student-led variety show full of great talent and surprises!

Based on multiple whimsical fairytales all intertwined, this Tony Award winning musical explores what happens after happily ever after. As the result of the curse of a once beautiful witch, a baker and his wife are childless. Three days before the rise of a blue moon, they venture into the forest to find the ingredients that will reverse the spell and restore the witch’s beauty: a milk white cow, hair as yellow as corn, a blood red cape, and a slipper of gold. During their journey, they meet Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel and Jack, each one on a quest to fulfill a wish.
