HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING
Book by Abe Burrows, Jack Weinstock and Willie Gilbert
Music and Lyrics by Frank Loesser
A satire of big business and all it holds sacred, “How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying” follows the rise of J. Pierrepont Finch, who uses a little handbook called How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying to climb the corporate ladder from lowly window washer to high-powered executive, tackling such familiar but potent dangers as the aggressively compliant “company man,” the office party, backstabbing coworkers, caffeine addiction and, of course, true love. An irreverent and tuneful romp, jam-packed with sly, swift and sharp jabs to the funny bone, “How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying” is a surefire hit!

ABOUT RICK KIRBY
Spartanburg native and veteran musician, Rick Kirby (locally known as ‘Uncle Rick’), began playing music at a very young age. He has now been performing for nearly 50 years. He was a member of the popular local band, U S Male in the late sixties/early seventies, and for nearly two decades he was a member of the local beach band, Grand Strand. Kirby has performed with many big name artists, and most musicians in the Spartanburg area. When not performing music, he is busy as an artist, leather crafter, and jewelry maker. Rick has retired from the working world, but stays active playing music. He can be seen in local and Upstate music venues as a solo artist, duo member, and band member. His primary instrument is bass/vocals, but also plays guitar.
ABOUT SHANE PRUITT
Shane Pruitt, Spartanburg native and local (and world-famous touring) musician, began playing guitar at an early age when in elementary school. He has now been performing live for over two decades. He has shared the stage with most local musicians, and some larger, not so local artists. He regularly plays shows with the Marshall Tucker Band, and has played with many large name artists. To name a few; UK band, the Mastersounds; Roosevelt Collier of the Lee Boys; Kevin Kinney of Drivin N Cryin; Aaron ‘Woody’ Wood, son of legendary bluegrass musician, Al Wood; and many more. Shane has performed at the Christmas Jam in Asheville, N.C. and on the Southern Rock Cruise several times. He can be seen and heard in local venues throughout the Upstate and beyond.

We’ve been talking to the folks from Bardic Alchemy, a Celtic Rock band from Asheville and they’ve agreed to play at Triskelion as many Tuesdays as they can come down to the Brewery.
Bardic Alchemy is a brand new element in the Celtic Rock world. This trio, based in the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina is comprised of multi-instrumentalist Connell Sanderson, guitarist Nick Marcone and percussionist and vocalist Tyler Watts.
Bardic Alchemy is best described as a psychedelic trip into a musical world that is heavily inspired by the Celtic musical traditions…run through various effects pedals. Everything from soothing, mellifluously reverberating whistle melodies supported by groovy guitar lines and thumping djembe beats to high energy dance tunes on the Scottish and Irish pipes to three part vocal harmonies and even improvised pieces, Bardic Alchemy is a surprisingly dynamic and unpredictable musical journey.
So… Tuesdays… will now be…

In the early years of our horse show at Harmon Field, the town would shut down to come out and watch the horses compete. We are excited to bring a bit of that tradition to the present by again offering the Carter Brown Memorial Barbecue at the Harmon Field Pavilion. The barbecue will follow the Tryon Horse Heritage Parade and kick off the brand new Traditionally Tryon Horse Show.
