Homebrew Day at Fireforge
May 26 @ 10:00 am – 6:00 pm
Fireforge Crafted Beer

Fireforge is hosting a “bring-your-rig” homebrewer event at the brewery! Homebrewers, bring your brewing system to the brewery for a day of beer-making and fellowship with your fellow brewers!

Brewers, you will need to provide:
– Your own brewing equipment (burners, propane, kettles, pumps, chiller, fermenters, etc.)
– Ingredients for your batch (malt, hops, etc.)
– We also encourage you to bring a tent and chairs, as the sun can get pretty intense.

Fireforge will provide:
– Electricity and tap water for brewing liquor
– 4 hookups and hoses for cooling (we may need to stagger cooling depending on how many brewing stations we have)
– 25% off tabs in the taproom to those who are brewing.
– Going Coastal food truck will be on-site serving brunch, and we have our regular food menu available in the tap room.

Since we have limited space in the parking lot and water hook-ups, we are limiting it to 10 brewing stations. Plan to arrive by 10 am to begin setup. If you are planning on bringing your system out on brew day, please RSVP to [email protected] to ensure you have a spot!

White Squirrel Festival – 2019
May 26 @ 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm
White Squirrel Festival

Here comes the 16th annual WHITE SQUIRREL FESTIVAL.

A celebration of the locally famous furry critter, this family festival spans three days over Memorial Day weekend and features local handmade arts and crafts, local and regional music, Memorial Day parade, food trucks, craft beer, kids’ activities, and rides.

The WHITE SQUIRREL FESTIVAL is a quirky festival with a lineup of locally and nationally known musicians-this year’s headliner is Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds. Other acts include Lover’s Leap, Chatham Rabbits, Zoe & Cloyd. Check back here and at whitesquirrelfestival.com for band updates and schedule. All concerts are FREE.

The fun kicks off at 5:30 Friday night and continues all weekend. There are too many activities to list, but among them are great local food vendors and local craft beer, street vendors with arts and hand-made crafts, kids rides and activities, White Squirrel Photo Contest, White Squirrel 5K/10K Run, Transylvania Farmers Market, and even a rescued white squirrel!

A special feature of the event, Saturday starts with a Memorial Day Parade organized by the American Legion and VFW. The parade honors service men and women, and rolls through town at 9:00 am, followed by the Presentation of the Wreath ceremony at the courthouse.
