Bass Pass Info:
You need a Bass Pass Ticket to get a photo with Santa. The Bass Pass Ticket Depot is open 1 hour before Santa’s Photos begin. Go to the Ticket Depo at the middle of our store and reserve a time to get in line for a photo with Santa. Tickets go in thirty-minute increments and are first come first serve. The Bass Pass is designed so you don’t have to wait in line! Simply pick up a Bass Pass Ticket and go shopping, play games, crafts or any of the other Santa’s Wonderland activities until it’s your time to see Santa. The Episcopal Church of the Advent will hold its 72nd Annual Holiday Bazaar on Thursday, November 15, from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. in the Parish and Community Life Center.

Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Menu: Chicken Athena (Chicken baked in white wine, lemon, fresh oregano and topped with grape tomatoes, feta cheese crumbles and kalamata olives), Lemon Thyme Rice, Greek Salad, Toasted Pita with Hummus, Lemon Cookies, and Tea/Coffee/Water. For the December ArtWalk, we will feature Donna McGuffin of Heirloom Birdhouses, Davelyn Hill aka Poetic Willow, and Shay Black.

DONNA MCGUFFIN:
Heirloom Birdhouses is based in Roebuck, SC and Donna has been creating for fifteen year. All of her pieces are all made of wood and recycled jewelry.

DAVELYN HILL:
Davelyn Athena is a Licensed Marriage and Family Intern. She is a facilitator with Speaking Down Barriers. Through this role and her LLC, Willow’s Glenn Retreat and Counseling Services she has led support groups, presented research, and conducted university presentations around racial trauma and oppression. Most recently she has been coordinating with funeral personnel around issues with grief and is a part of a team of facilitators presenting public series on the grieving process.

Davelyn Athena is a Level II Reiki Practitioner of the Usui method. She is a spiritual director, healer, life map retreat provider and spiritual midwife.

Davelyn Hill, also known as Poetic Willow is also a author, poet, and intuitive painter. She has featured at “Say it with Slay’” in Spartanburg, SC. Her art has been displayed through Spark and Echo, the National Equity in Medicine Online Gallery, and Neue South SPACE Walk. Poetic Willow is the two time Haiku Champion at Say What Haiku slam through Wits End Poetry. She has self published a poetry haiku chapbook and is working on a novel.

SHAY BLACK:
Shay Black is a visual and spoken-word artist from Greenville, SC. Her work has been shown in numerous solo and group shows in the surrounding upstate area. One of her metal works is a permanent art piece at Converse College. After returning from Iraq she showed great interest in the arts where she attended art classes at Greenville Technical College. Black received a BFA in Studio Art majoring in sculpture and ceramics from Converse College. For the past six years, she has been working as a mixed media artist exploring various art expressions about family, self-awareness, current events, anxiety and depression. Also, she has been performing and reading poetry since 2016. A volunteer and active board member of Wits End Poetry. Currently a performing spoken-word artist on Team Injustice out of Spartanburg, SC.

Stock the Pantry at Drayton Mills Elementary

50 million Americans struggle with hunger every day and one in five of those are children. And here in Spartanburg County, 28% of children live in poverty. That’s why United Way of the Piedmont Young Leaders are partnering with Drayton Mills Elementary to Stock the School’s Pantry. Over holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas, many families struggle to afford a holiday meal and many students do not have access to food when they are not in school.

TO PARTICIPATE:
Gather friends, family, or coworkers and start collecting items from the suggested list(below)! Then join Young Leaders at Drayton Mills Elementary on November 15 to help Stock the Pantry and fill bags (provided) for students to take home with them.

Please RSVP to let us know you are coming, we will have pizza for all those volunteering!
