The race will begin promptly at 10:00 AM on March, 30th. The course will take runners on a combination of single and double-track trails through the beautiful DuPont State Recreational Forest.
It’s all for a good cause too! Race proceeds go right back to helping maintain DuPont State Recreational Forest! Registration includes unique swag and post-race food!

This is an amazing opportunity for novice and experienced trail runners alike.
Do most trail races seem excessively long?!? Hey, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. At 12km (~7 miles), this is a great race for those looking to go farther than the 5k/10k, but who are not quite ready for the half marathon distance.

The race will be begin and end at the Guion Farms Parking Area, located less than an hour south of Asheville, NC.

Majolica is an ancient type of pottery in which an earthenware clay body (usually red earthenware) is covered with an opaque white glaze then painted with stains or glazed and low fired. During this 2 day workshop (part 2, Feb 9), students will create a simple, hand-built pottery piece, practice decorative techniques and apply their own decoration to the bisque fires work.
This week we will be making pottery using hump/slump molds to glaze the following week.

The second week (Feb 9) we will glazing and painting. If you choose to only register for the 2nd Saturday, you will be provided with bisqueware to glaze and decorate.

Learn how to utilize the Innova Navigator P2 quilting system to its fullest potential. We will demonstrate just how easy it is to quilt edge to edge and then dive into custom quilting- setting blocks, borders, sashing and more. She will discuss each tool, how to use it, demonstrate it and then help you design a project that you can take home and quilt out on your machine to reinforce all that you learned in class. Join us for our weekly children’s story time! Each week on Saturday mornings at 10:30am, we’ll set up shop in the Kid’s Nook to read stories of adventure, mayhem, and joy. As always, a story time treat will be provided by The Chocolate Moose.

This free firearm safety class is for Pre-K to 4th grade but we are not sticklers on age. There will be no firearms on hand. Pizza will be served. If you want your little one(s) to know what to do if they see a firearm, this class will help. Please let us know if you are going to attend and how many you will be bringing. We have some real fun stuff planned. Parents, to help us maintain order, we ask that an adult attend the class with each group of children that participates. Put down your smart phone and join us for National Take A Walk in a Park Day. Kids in Parks-Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation will share information about their Track Trail program for kids. Our Naturalist will lead several guided hikes throughout the day and we’ll have hiking experts from Frugal Backpacker on site to help you learn more about the ways you can enjoy getting outdoors. To finish out the day, we’ll have a doctor from Rutherford Regional Health System hike with kids and help them learn the benefits of staying active.
A portion of Park admission on this day will go to Kids in Parks-Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation.
