PLEASE NOTE: All Observatory activities are dependent on clear skies.
*Observatory may be in use for scheduled school classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m.-1:45 p.m.

Enjoy a visit to Christmas pasts from the 1840s to the 1890s. Each room contains antique and reproduction decorations and traditions. Four live trees, one of which will be decorated with traditional Appalachian decorations, hand made by our SMH over History club.
Admission at the door $9 adults, $5 children/students, free for WNC Historical Association members and A-B Tech students.

Yellow Mountain Garden’s Christmas Tree lot will open bright and early November 17 with trees and wreaths for sale. We will have christmas ornaments, decorations, and handmade gifts available.

This year there is a shortage of fresh cut trees, so get your’s early. Once they are gone, they are gone. $1 of every wreath sold will go towards a local veteran charity! Support your local vets ❤️.

Our series of indoor farmer’s markets is returning this Winter for you folks that need to get your shopping fix in the offseason. Come join us as we welcome farmers and artisans offering the finest in pastured beef, poultry, pork, lamb, eggs, veggies, artisanal cheeses, pottery, hand poured soaps, natural body products, candles, honey, chocolates, dog products, caramels, desserts, organic produce, and much more. Shopping is indoors and heated so don’t fear the weather!

We will have food trucks providing exciting lunch and brunch menus and look for the return of our special oyster roasts we will host throughout the market season.

We are extremely family friendly so please bring your kids along for the enjoyment!

On exhibit Saturdays and Sundays from 12 – 4 p.m., Rocky Cove Railroad is a G-Scale (garden scale) model train that demonstrates the coming of trains to western North Carolina at the turn of the 20th century. The exhibit is located below the Grand Promenade. Please note, Rocky Cove Railroad will not operate in rainy or wet conditions.
