On Friday, May 3, 2019, Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary will host the inaugural Dr. Jerry W. Crick Memorial Lecture in Apologetics. This lecture in honor of the late Dr. Jerry W. Crick (1951-2012) was established thanks to a generous gift provided by Mrs. Sherri Crick Halbert, Dr. Crick’s widow.
Dr. Crick earned his Doctor of Theology (ThD) degree from Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in 1992. He went on to pastor several Presbyterian churches in South Carolina and elsewhere, as well as serve as Professor of Theology, Philosophy, and Apologetics at Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary (1996-2006).
The Seminary thanks Dr. Circk’s widow, Mrs. Sherri Crick Halbert, for the generous gift that makes possible this memorial lecture.
The Memorial Lecture is free and open to the public. Dr. Camden Bucey (Pastor, Hope Orthodox Presbyterian Church of Grayslake, IL; President & Co-Founder, Reformed Forum) will deliver this year’s lecture on Christian apologetics.

“Lord, what fools these mortals be!” Join the Guerrilla Shakespeare Theatre Company as they dive into the fairy world with their upcoming production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. This award-winning theatre company brings a Shakespearian fever dream to six different Upstate locations this May.
The Guerrilla Shakespeare Theatre Company is a theatrical activist collective based in the upstate of South Carolina. The company won five awards, including “Best Play,” at the 2018 South Carolina Theatre Association competition. This production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be directed by Erika Phoenix. This will be her directorial debut with the company. Midsummer will be her first full-length project in South Carolina since completing an MFA in Physical Theatre at the Accademia dell’Arte in Arezzo, Italy.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a wild, intense romp through the forest, complete with mistaken identities, power plays, and unpredictable declarations of love. Just when a character knows what they want, there is an unexpected turn of events and everything spirals out of control. The audience dives into the dark with dreams of love and acceptance with the performers. With a cast of nine playing a total of 20 characters, prepare to be lost in this magical and wonderful world where “the course of true love never did run smooth.”
All productions are pay what you can. This performance is outdoors so bringing a chair or blanket is recommended to enjoy the show.

Friday, May 3 Foxfire Revival ~ Foxfire Revival is a four-piece folk outfit with an Appalachian stringband feel that brings a variety of sounds from traditional instruments such as harmonica, banjo, mandolin, and cello. Motivated by the spirit of the Foxfire series of North Georgia, the Athens-based band was born in 2016 out of a weekly gathering of friends seeking to revive certain old-fashioned crafts from times gone by. Together these friends – Austin Hall, Jordan Burbage, David Henry, and Brock Beisel – seek to celebrate and share with others their collective love for adventure, a good story, and Appalachian culture through the music they create. Foxfire Revival takes cues from the likes of Mipso, Nickel Creek, The Avett Brothers, and Gregory Alan Isakov.
