Fiction Addiction hosts a free children’s storytime at our shop at 1175 Woods Crossing Rd. #5 every Thursday morning at 10:30am.

This beautiful play tells the unlikely story of friendship found between Daisy Werthan, an elderly Southern Jewish woman, and Hoke Colburn, her African American driver. Written by award-winning playwright Alfred Urhy, this story was adapted into the Oscar winning film starring Morgan Freeman and Jessica Tandy. The show explores the commonality found between two unlikely people set in the backdrop of Atlanta, Georgia between the years of 1948 and 1973. Audiences won’t want to miss this Pulitzer Prize winning play!

On exhibit Saturdays and Sundays from 12 – 4 p.m., Rocky Cove Railroad is a G-Scale (garden scale) model train that demonstrates the coming of trains to western North Carolina at the turn of the 20th century. The exhibit is located below the Grand Promenade. Please note, Rocky Cove Railroad will not operate in rainy or wet conditions.
