Black Mountain Monster 24, 12 & 6 Hour Ultramarathon

Relentless Running Events

A festival-like endurance event that has runners competing on a 3.125 mile looped course to see how far they can run, walk or crawl in 24, 12 or 6 hours. The course will take runners through the wooded trails of Montreat College’s White Oak Estate nestled in Black Mountain, NC.

This event is fully supported. Participants have access to a well stocked aid station during the event. Pizza will be delivered at dinner time on Saturday, and other meal items will be available during the race. Food/water/restrooms are located on-course. There will be awards for top finishers and belt buckles for 100 mile finishers.

Runners and their crew are permitted to camp on-site Friday evening through Sunday. Spectators are encouraged to attend on Saturday to cheer on the runners and enjoy live music throughout the event! Admission is free for spectators.

PLEASE DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE. Really, we can’t stress this enough, if you overindulge, leave your car or bike overnight and come back for it the next day. Take the free shuttle or a taxi; you’ll make some new friends and keep everyone safe. We also created these great options for you:

– ASHEVILLE FREE SHUTTLE – Shuttles available at AB Tech’s Dogwood Lot. Shuttles start at 10:15 am and run continually until 6:30 pm.

Winner of the Audience Choice award at the Tampa Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, this film really explores the conflict between religious groups and the LGBTQ community in an honest and meaningful way. It also explores what the LGBTQ community initially looks like when you are still using the lens that comes from an evangelical background, which is something that a lot of us can relate to.

Headlining will be writer, director, producer Del Shores, the bad boy of Sordid Lives; Fun Home, a Tony-winning Broadway musical; House of Mann, mind-blowing and gender-bending fashions; and Rev. Jim Dant, a nationally recognized thought-leader in Christian acceptance of alternative lifestyles.

There will also be an art exhibit and regional performing artists in theatre, music, and literature.
