Novant Health has officially opened its first clinic in Greenville, marking the first of several planned investments by the North Carolina-based health system in the region.
“As we look to expand access for the community, we are excited that this is open and ready for patient care today,” said Ryan Lee, president of the Greenville area for Novant Health.
Lee and other Novant officials attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new clinic, located at 701 Congaree Road. The facility offers orthopedics and sports medicine, led by Dr. Michael John Kissenberth, and head and neck reconstructive surgery, headed by Dr. Robert Brown.
Kissenberth has served as a consultant to the Colorado Rockies Major League Baseball team and is vice chair of clinical affairs at the GHS Department of Orthopaedics. Brown is a nationally recognized facial, head and neck surgeon with an emphasis on cancer and trauma reconstruction and rhinoplasty.
The new facility also offers physical therapy.
This is the health care system’s second investment in Greenville this year. In August, Novant broke ground on a $132 million, 20-bed hospital on Patewood Drive. That facility, expected to open in 2027, will feature state-of-the-art surgery, imaging and specialty care.
