A star is shining in Greenville as the city celebrates its first MICHELIN Star restaurant.
Scoundrel GVL was one of four South Carolina restaurants to receive a star from the international arbiter of culinary excellence. Scoundrel’s recognition came during the unveiling of the inaugural American South Guide at a ceremony at the Peace Center in Greenville. The new guide covers Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia.
“Joe Cash’s upscale French bistro charms with an elegant dining room with hardwood floors and brick walls, a full-service bar and an engaging staff who make everyone feel well cared for and welcomed,” the guide said. “It’s the hottest table in town, and reservations are a must, though seats at the bar feel far from a consolation prize.”
Other Greenville restaurants were recognized by MICHELIN for additional honors. Lewis Barbecue GVL received a Bib Gourmand, an award for restaurants offering a three-course meal at a reasonable price. Three other Greenville restaurants received a mention: Jianna, Soby’s New South Cuisine and The Anchorage.
