Upstate Shakespeare Festival performers on stage during a run of As You Like It.

The 25th Annual Upstate Shakespeare Festival season will feature Romeo & Juliet and The Tempest! Shows begin at 7:00 pm in beautiful Falls Park, Thursdays through Sundays each week during the run of shows.

This program is funded in part by the Metropolitan Arts Council which receives support from the City of Greenville, BMW Manufacturing Company, Michelin North America, Inc., SEW Eurodrive, and the South Carolina Arts Commission.

Upstate Shakespeare Festival 2019 Schedule

Romeo & Juliet (May 22 – June 16)

Teenagers Romeo and Juliet fall for each other despite their warring families in Verona. Their passionate romance leads to tragedy in William Shakespeare’s tale of forbidden love. Directed by John Fagan.

The Tempest (July 11 – August 4)
The magician and former duke Prospero, who has been exiled on an island with his daughter Miranda for years, plots revenge on the brother who usurped his throne with the help of the magical island creatures in his thrall, in one of William Shakespeare’s final plays. Directed by John Fagan.

All performances of the Upstate Shakespeare Festival have free admission and are performed in the beautiful Falls Park on the Reedy. Please note that anyone consuming alcohol must do so in a clear, plastic cup.
