Meals on Wheels of Greenville’s recently held 25th annual Sweetheart Charity Ball provided 55,053 meals to the homebound in Greenville County.
“Without our generous sponsors, volunteers and supporters donating their time and resources to Meals on Wheels of Greenville, we wouldn’t be able to provide the hot, nutritious meal and daily personal visit to our many homebound neighbors throughout Greenville County,” said Catriona Carlisle, Executive Director at Meals on Wheels of Greenville. “The funds raised at the 25th annual Sweetheart Charity Ball will help to continue this service to those in need throughout our community.”
Greenville Maintenance Services, Inc. served as the presenting sponsor for the 2020 event and has been a consistent and generous partner to Meals on Wheels of Greenville for years. “Each year we’re proud to support Meals on Wheels of Greenville and are honored to sponsor the Sweetheart Charity Ball,” stated Tommy Jenkins, President and Owner of Greenville Maintenance Services. “We’re pleased to play even a small part in helping those in need throughout our community, and we know the impact this event makes each and every year is invaluable.”
The Sweetheart Charity Ball was held at the Hyatt Regency Downtown. Funds were raised through silent and live auction items, Fund-a-Need donations and sponsorships by generous partners.
Meals on Wheels enhances the quality of life of homebound individuals and seniors by providing nutritious meals, personal interaction and independence. Each day, caring volunteers deliver nearly 1,500 hot, nutritious meals to homebound individuals throughout Greenville County. In 2018, Meals on Wheels celebrated 50 years of delivering hope to the community and 12 million meals delivered. Meals on Wheels is a proud partner of United Way of Greenville County.
