Wheels for Meals Charity Ride Provides More Than 24,850 Meals

The 13th Annual Wheels for Meals Charity Ride benefiting Meals on Wheels of Greenville took place last month at Trailblazer Park in Travelers Rest. Over 400 cyclists participated in the event’s five rides—a 10-mile Family Fun Ride, 25-mile, 50-mile, 72-mile and 100-mile English Century—and finished the day with a post-ride celebration.

The event provided more than 24,850 meals for the homebound clients of Meals on Wheels.

“Each year, we are grateful for the support of the cyclists, corporate sponsors, volunteers, and donors who support the Wheels for Meals Charity Ride,” said Amanda Osborne, Director of Development at Meals on Wheels of Greenville. “The funds raised through this event make a significant impact in the lives of the homebound individuals throughout Greenville County.”

Funds from the Wheels for Meals Charity Ride are raised through sponsorships and peer-to-peer fundraising by participants. Since the ride’s inception, Wheels for Meals has provided over 321,500 meals for the homebound.
