Meals on Wheels of Greenville Receives $50,000 From Gran Fondo Hincapie-Greenville

George Hincapie, Rich Hincapie, Christian Vande Velde, and the Hincapie Sportswear team recently volunteered to package meals and presented Meals on Wheels of Greenville with the proceeds from the 2018 Gran Fondo Hincapie-Greenville.

The check of $50,000 honors Meals on Wheels’ 50th anniversary and will provide 10,000 meals for homebound individuals served in Greenville County.

“Meals on Wheels has been a major partner of ours for years,” stated George Hincapie. “We began working with them in 2012 during our second Gran Fondo event, and ever since, they have been instrumental as volunteers and supporters of the ride. We really appreciate all Meals on Wheels has done for our community, so we think it’s important to give back—especially in celebration of their 50th year.”

This is the sixth consecutive year Meals on Wheels of Greenville has benefited from Gran Fondo Hincapie-Greenville, with gifts totaling $177,000.

“Since our partnership with Hincapie Sportswear began, they have funded over 43,000 meals for our homebound clients,” said Catriona Carlisle, Executive Director at Meals on Wheels of Greenville. “The collective impact they have made in our community is substantial. The Hincapie team not only provides critical financial resources, but they also give of their time to volunteer and advocate on our behalf. We are truly grateful for their partnership.”
